- Cassis is a small juwel. I had the impression, the French want to keep it for themselves. If you don't speak fluent French, you will be ignored or looked down upon. Also in this nicely built hotel. The receptionists were not just somewhat unfriendly but also either unwilling or incompetent to help with most basic things such as finding information about train connections or calling a taxi in time. « less

- Excellent hotel in Cassis (which is amazing) all the staff were most helpful and friendly The hotel has a great location - Cassis is built on a steep hill and the hotels are either right on the port and very noisy or a long walk up hill with the exception of this one.
The lounge area, breakfast area/terrace and in particular the pool were great and the room itself while not large was adequate and had more faciltiies than most French hotels in this price bracket « less

- Near the port of Cassis, awesome pool, great service and fast espresso machine; what more do you need? My wife & I stayed here for 8 nights with our 3 boys (3, 11 & 13), in two conjoined rooms. Things were a little cramped in our rooms, but that's a given when you're staying in such a small, compact port town as Cassis.
The hotel has a great pool with teak deck and water kept at just the right temperature (cold enough to invigorate, but not so cold as to keep kids from using it regularly), and there's an outdoor shower, stall and changing room to rinse off the ocean salt.
Rooms have well-situated 28-30" flat screen TVs, and with the floors staggered even the top (3rd) floor is only a short flight of stairs.
WiFi worked flawlessly the entire time, and shower/bath were easy to use, with temperature controls always faithful.
The walk to the port takes two minutes, and five to the open air market = great location. « less

This hotel has pretty good location, good rate and great breakfast. Rooms are modern, clean and air conditioned but very small- maybe 3' surrounding the side by side twin beds. But a great deal for an overnight stay. « less

- Don't know how it can be the #1 rated hotel in Cassis. We arrived late in the day after a long drive from Paris. No problem finding it, thanks to the GPS, despite the address not being on the Tom Tom database. A rather rude desk clerk checked us in, didn't bother helping us with our luggage up 3 flights. Beware - with no elevators, this hotel isn't for the non-ambulant!
We were given the last room available, with only a king bed even though we'd requested for two. It stank heavily of deodorant spray, presumably to clear the remnants of the previous smoker-lout. I must say that it was well-sized for a French hotel room, with a good shower (BYO hair conditioner and body lotion though) and nice views of the woods.
After fitful rest on the stiff, uncomfortable mattress, we decided that one night was enough. If this were the best hotel in Cassis, we'd rather stay in Marseilles and come back during the day to explore the beauty of the town! « less
