- Unfortunately there was a thunderstorm the night we stayed so we weren't able to make use of the facilities the next day but the good thing about this hotel is the location right next to a small sandy beach and easy walking to the harbour area and lots of shops and restaurants. (We ate at L'hippodrome - a very good fish restaurant). There's also an outdoor pool and spa, neither of which we used. The hotel itself is fine, perhaps a little tired looking. We didn't have breakfast there because the storm meant no-one could eat outside and this seemed to have caused a staffing/table problem. We forgot to book a parking space so had to park about 10 minutes away from the hotel which was annoying. Apart from that, everything good. We had interconnecting rooms with balconies overlooking the sea and terrace. Frejus harbour area is modern and lively, probably a bit touristy but great fun for a night or two. « less

- I just returned from what I wanted to be my dream vacation on the French Riviera. I was looking for this vacation for 2 long years but it proved to be a bit of a failure from the accomodation point of view.
First, the reception desk personnel were quite ignorant when it comes to speaking foreign languages. English was big mistery for almost everybody there. At a certain point they seemed to me to be hiding from foreign tourists, to avoid speaking a language which they didn't know.
The biggest suprise came in the end of our stay, from the same reception staff. At the check-out, we were asked to pay services we actually haven't used. To go straight to the point - they added more than 50% extra to what we actually had. So, please, for the safety of your pocket, read your bill item by item before you pay anything!!!
Other surprises which spiced up our vacation are listed below:
- the smell inside the room and toillet was really hard to bear; we had to keep the balcony door opened throughout our entire stay with Mercure Thallasa to be able to breath any decent air;
- the furniture in the room was old and the carpet was full of stains; it reminded me about the old and dusty communist style hotels existing in Eastern Europe in the 90th...
- the so-called ''free internet'' cost in fact 3 euro per 30 minutes and the speed was very critical;
- the private beach of the hotel was in fact a crawded public beach; the "funny" thing was that we got a secret code to access the beach directly through the hotel garden, even if the beach was public and everybody could have accessed it anyhow; from time to time the hotel was changing the secret code without informing the tourists...
- the bar inside the hotel (La Nioulargue) was theoretically opened from 11:00 to 23:00; actually, in the 8 days we spent there, only once we saw a bartender standing at the hotel bar; anytime we wanted to order something, we had to go to the restaurant or to the reception first, to call the bartender and ask him to show up in the bar.
But despite all, we were most unhappy about the overall attitude of the hotel staff (reception + bar + restaurant). For 200 euro per double room per night, anyone deserves to get a fair service!!! « less

- We stayed in this hotel in July 2010 and payed 1200 euro for a family of 4, for 3 nights, the least expensive rooms. First on arrival, there was no parking space as their parking is very small. We were tired and the staff was not interested. Second the small rooms had a terrible, nauseating smell, the carpet was stained and curtains were hanging loose. The bathroom was so small that i could not brush my child's teeth in it, either the child or I had to stand outside the bathroom.
The entire bathroom and bedroom were very poorly cleaned, as was the small, primitive toilet area. Thirdly, the restaurant staff was rude, with food items being removed at 10 am, no substitutions, while the breakfast was till 11. Upon request, the staff stated to prepare for lunch at 12, we could only sit at the unattractive corner of the restaurant, near the cleaning area. Same with dinner, was till 10 pm, but from 9 pm, there were only salads available. The pool is small and crowded. Internet in the room was promosed, did not work. Staff did not solve this. Few shops nearby, no great restaurants. I will never go here again. Spend your money elsewhere! « less

- We didn't use any of the spa facilities, we simply needed a base for 4 nights to discover the cote d'azur and this was perfect. Excellent value for money. Excellent location on the harbour. 20 minute walk to the train station in St.Raphael. The beach is on your doorstep. The restaurant looked pricey but there are literally dozens of restaurants around the harbour area. For those arranging car hire there is a Europcar depot just over a mile away. I wouldn't use a car to travel the coast but useful for going inland. « less

- We took a one week Thalasso fitness week with 6x4 treatements and half board. The Thalasso installation were very appropriate, staff very friendly & professional and well kept timing, i.e. the treatements started on time, as per personal schedule. The center also includes a pleasant relaxing area with sea view and "Tisannerie". The food in the restaurant was excellent and served by friendly waitors. The hotel is located right on the beach, adjacent to the harbour (only pleasure crafts !). Note that the standard 7 day package gave us a room with street view that we could upgrade for € 10.- / day to harbour view or € 21.- / day with sea view. All in all a great experience. WiFi in-room worked well, but was € 35.- for 7 days ... a bit on the expensive side ! « less
