- It would not have been my first choice of locations to stay in Lyon but it is not too difficult once you have got used to passing through or under Perrache. The tram is useful and it is not far from an amazing array of mdern architecture. The rooms are fine, although not appreciably better than you would get at a good 2 star hotel. The restaurant was good but had somewhat erratic opening hours. Some re-decoration was taking place in a leisurly fashion - the wet paint signs remained constant and there was no progress in laying a new carpet in the lift lobby during the week I was there. « less

- Even though the location is not the most central, it did not bother us since we had a car. We did not use their parking lot as we did not know at the time they had one!!). Besides, it has its own restaurant and there's a surprising brasserie just nearby (Chez Georges, 600 seats!). I had read in some reviews that it was a bit noisy: we did not have to complain at all. Very quiet. Maybe it's because our room was on the courtyard side (we had room 220 - all even number rooms seem to be on this side).
The room was renovated, clean, basic but comfortable. The bed, most of all, was excellent and not noisy at all ;-)
The bathroom was small, with toilets included, but fine to us. Clean and renovated as well. If you are picky with hair dryers, bring yours because theirs is basic as well...
The room had a flat TV, not large, but that was enough to us and besides, we were not really there to watch it!!! the room did not have a minibar, which allow us some savings!
For the free wifi, you need to get a code at the front desk when you check in.
The staff very nice, and the surprise was that we (all) found a little bottle of Mumm champagne, with two glasses and some pink biscuits, in our room while we went out on Valentine's eve. Amazing!! they did it for all guests that evening!
Breakfast was good too. Buffet style, with ham, saucisson, hard eggs, hot drinks, danishes, little cakes, fruit, dairies, different kinds of bread, etc.
We did not take any pics, but would definitely recommend it! « less

- Reading the last reviews for this hotel, I would have to say that the one titled "Boring standard business hotel" gotta a point. In fact, there is no major bad things to complain about, but, then again, there is nothing to praise either.
Good things: the price, very cheap, specially considering that you are in France; the location, however it´s not the best, since you have to walk like a 4 block distante to reach the subway station at the Gare Perrache; the wifi connection, for free; the stillness, as they put us in a room facing the back of the hotel; there are some good restaurants nearby, however you have to walk until the Bellecour Square to eat, if you wanna do it later than 10 pm.
Bad things: no special hospitality; there is no minibar in the room; the rooms are very small; the breakfast definnetly not worth it (just a few croissants, with some juice and butter, no big deal).
Comparing the bad things with the good ones, I would stil recommend it. But don´t expect too much of it. « less

- Compared to some of the hotels we've stayed at, this one is very clean and well-kept. However our visit was let down by a few failings.
The TV in the room should have had about 20 channels, but most of them had terrible reception. The radiator was on full blast, and according to the thermostat, the room reached 29 degrees centigrade. We tried to resolve this by turning the radiator control to switch it off, but this made no difference - still full blast after an hour. We tried opening a window, but there was a loud party across the road until long past 2:30am, so we had to close the window to sleep. The air conditioner also would not work. When I went down to reception at 1:30am he suggested the radiator controls, but spoke very little english so it was difficult to communicate.
The Wifi is free, but didn't work the first evening we were there. It worked intermittently the next morning, and was fast when it worked.
Besides the broken stuff, the room was nice, well kept, as was the bathroom. It's about a 10 minute walk into the old town and the main shopping area. The parking area recommended across the road seems to be the local dogging area, as it was full of discarded used condoms. Not nice!
Would I recommend it? Looking at the other reviews, I'm hopeful we were just unlucky with the faulty radiator and the loud party across the road, so for fairness I've said yes, though I do have concerns about our stay. « less
