- Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is located a short walk away from the Gare Perrache train station. Perfect if you need to catch an early train, etc. Staff lacks personality or the urgency to be helpful, but we checked in with no problems. Rooms are clean & beds comfy, but the rest of the hotel needs some updating. I would recommend to stay here only if you need to be close to the train station or need something cheap for a quick stay in Lyon. « less

- We really enjoyed this hotel. It's location was ideal, situated on the square, Place Carnot, with lots of shops and restaurants nearby, walking distance to the old town and right beside the train station. They gave us a large room on the 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the square. The bathroom was small but workable, clean with lots of hot water. Beds were comfortable.
The only thing we were unhappy with: I had emailed them to see if there would be a hairdryer for us. They said yes so we left ours at home. When we arrived, we found they had 1 hairdryer and someone was using it. Sorry! « less

- I Stayed at this Hotel one night only for a buiness trip. It is in a good central location for walking up through shopping districts and restaurant areas. The Airport Shuttle bus stops just 25m away across the road, and is an easy way to get into the city with frequent departures at 8.60 euros.
The reception staff were helpful and polite. My room, 85 euros, was small but clean and had everything I required. TV, drink making facility, shower& toilet. The bed was a good size for one.
Downstairs there is a drink and snack vending machine in the lobby. The breakfast room is large, light and functional with an excellent choice, continental style for just 8 euros. For short stays this is a good hotel that does the job.
Top tip! If you need a taxi in the morning book it with the hotel reception the night before. I did and it arrived within 5 minutes of the booked time. Others in the hotel had been waiting 45 minutes to try and get one from the street outside or through reception in the morning! « less

- DO NOT STAY HERE!! I stayed here with my boyfriend while he was on a trip for work. I was eaten alive by bed bugs. It was the most miserable experience. I actually saw them crawling on the sheets but didn't know what they were at first. We switched rooms but it didn't help. Ended up seeing a doctor in France. Took a month for the spots and itching to subside. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy!!!

- I stayed at the Campanile for just one night (2 would have been my death!) in November with a friend.
The location is great, the hotel looks nice from the outside but inside...my oh my!
The staff is like robots. They tell you what you should know with ready made sentences, no smile, no friendliness.
The room is simply HORRIBLE! It looks like a room from the worst motel on a desert road. The pillows are very cheap quality, the sheets are badly tucked under the mattress, the blanket and the bed spread are filthy and cheap quality as well.
The carpet in the room should have been changed years ago. Don't take your shoes off if you don't want to get athlete's foot!
The bathroom is just clean enough and the towels show years of usage. Don't count on having fluffy towels because they are the worst towels you can get!
To sum up everything, it is a big NO NO!!!! Unless you are on a budget and you don't care about hygiene and a minimal comfort!!!
