- This was our fourth trip to Kamari, we had the best breakfasts in this hotel normally we don;t even bother usually its bread and jam with no butter. We asked Kostas if we could be moved to the front apartments overlooking the sea, he moved us the 2nd week for four days this was great. The staff were very friendly the pool was lovely and warm also it was situated close to all the amenities would book this hotel again.

- we staying in the poseidon 6-15th september actually for my daughters wedding but booked our stay independently staying 9 nights at the poseidon b & b whilst it is classed as 2 star its certainly put higher class places we have stayed in the shade.it was immacutlely clean, the staff could not do enough for you we could not fault the place and will definately return and this coming from people who do not like to go to the same place twice.
the hotel is location, location, location right on th beach and we had breakfast every morning right above the beachbreakfast was normal continental breakfast but for the price you pay was still satisfactory.I have no problems reccomend this hotel they even have a mini bus to transport you to the airport cost us 3 euros each. « less

- It was our first time in Santorini, we went to see our friends getting married and there were a few of us dotted around the resort. The Hotel is 10 minutes from the airport but far enough away so you are not sleeping on the runway. It cost us 5 Euros each, Bargain! We were greeted with a smiling Kostas, who happily booked us in and took my bag upstairs. The room was a little small but had everything you needed, also had a fridge which was handy and air conditioning. The breakfast is not the best, bread, (sometimes toasted) ham, cheese, boiled eggs, tea, coffee & orange juice. If you prefer a full english there are plenty of places around that will do it for around 6 Euros. The pool is fine, not under an electricity sub station as in other comments and the beach is a stones throw away. If you get chance try their Gyros which is shredded pork with fried potatoes, tatziki, salad and flat bread, it's the best and also their fried calamari, to die for.
The bus stop is 2mins away if you want to go into Oui & Fira, worth a visit. I would go back in a heartbeat, the friendly staff, the location and the lovely restaurants and bars there...Wonderful! « less

- This is a classic 1960s Greek Hotel right on the front, but with so-so rooms, poor headroom, and rather naff breakfast, and a small pool right scarily under the local electricity substation.
At least the location is great - right on the seafront, and a short distance from the airport: alas the airport or port pickup costs 18 euro! Not the 5 euro they advertise. And then the airport's minibus doesn't take you to the door - but the bus stop up the road and around the corner. Mind you, when we left, even a taxi for the 5 minute hop to the airport cost 15 euro. It's a pricey area. There are wind up merchants who run the taverna at the front: when we arrived they told us the hotel was fully booked! Somehow, after a long trek there, I didn't think it funny.
This is one of the original Kamari hotels - and much of it hasn't been updated since the 1960s. At least we were offered the chance of two singles or a double: rare in Greece. Alas our room was right down in the basement - where there was a headroom height of 5 foot 11inches. Not great if you are six foot. And then - the worst problem! There was just a thin net curtain on the room. However we found that by using the two towels provided by the hotel, and a blanket we'd swiped from the British Airways flight, we could create a kind of impromptu curtain. Pure DIY.
More DIY was needed to fit the door to the bathroom. It doesn't shut after last year's earthquake. But then the plumbing was blocked too, with a nasty smell thanks to the wetroom style of it. There was a fridge, but no kettle. No remote for the air con. Poor reception on the TV, which showed Euronews and Al Jezera, but no BBC, or Star. There is free wifi - reception gave me the code - but only around the pool area and not in the rooms! All in all, the rooms are pretty naff.
There is a cheap and nasty breakfast offering in the morning, with ham, bread, and cheese. The Orange Juice is of the squash variety. Not good.
On all the pictures, the most alluring thing is the pool, and this is a great in the heat of a Greek summer - but it's also directly under the buzzing local electricity substation, with dangling wires: I found this all a bit disconcerting, and I was quite glad to leave. « less
