What you need to know

The Ionis is a modern, family-owned hotel 120 metres from a sandy beach and eight kilometres from Zakynthos town on the south-east coast of this Greek island. The 65 air- conditioned guestrooms, spread over three floors, are painted white and come with simple, functional furniture and open onto balconies. All are equipped with television sets, direct-dial phones, minibars and refrigerators. Guests benefit from private bathrooms and housekeeping.

Guests can relax beside the hotel’s fresh water outdoor pool, surrounded by sun loungers and also featuring a poolside bar. All public areas are air conditioned, and there is a meeting room that can hold up to 50 people. Babysitting is available on request (fees apply) and the multilingual staff are happy to help with advice about touring the island. Free parking is on site and there is a 24-hour desk with safe deposit boxes (fees apply). The Byzantine Museum and the Venetian Citadel are both eight kilometres from the hotel and the Vertzagio Folk Museum is 27 kilometres away. There is a bus stop at the hotel entrance and Zakynthos Airport is five kilometres from the hotel, an approximate driving time of 10 minutes.
