- We visited Compass Point for the 1st time this past Spring Break and knew we wanted to return. Diving the East End of Grand Cayman is a joy in itself, but these people really make it special. The dive masters are knowledgeable and safety conscious, but are also adventurous enough to make each dive special. The crew takes exceptional care of both equipment and divers. Special thanks to Adam, Sam and Ben!
The accommodations are very comfortable and the decor is well done. The staff are helpful and eager to please. There isn't a restaurant on property, but we had some delicious meals at nearby eateries. Compass Point has a get together on Wednesdays with a buffet by the pool. We skipped this on our 1st visit. I'm glad we didn't make that mistake again. It is very casual and a great time. Jody prepared some local dishes that were fantastic! We are definitely coming back. « less

- We came here after a week on Little Cayman, as we wanted to dive the East End of Grand Cayman. The condos are clean and spacious (for two people) with a large balcony, and it's certainly close to the jetty (for Ocean Frontiers dive centre). The units also have everything you need for self-catering, except a kettle! there's a coffee machine, but you need filters for it. The shop/office sells some very limited basics (but not even milk), and just beware if you arrive on a Sunday as Grand Cayman has very limited shopping hours and you cannot buy any form of alcohol!! The units also have a/c - but it's not the most effecient at times. Rubbish is removed daily, but anything else is charged ion a sliding scale - but since the condos have a washing machine and drier, clean towels are essentially on demand (although you do need to buy soap powder).
There is a local take-away virtually opposite (great prawns in coconut batter!), but you really need to drive about 15-20mins to get to most restaurants. We'd certainly recommmend 'Over the Edge' - recommended to us by Compass Pioint and can certainly see why - great food and fantastic location over the water. If you can, try the local fish fries, too - not very slimming but certanly fresk and tasty!
There is a pool on site (used for dive courses) and some great loungers on the 'beach' (gravel rather than sand) - as well as BBQs if you want to use them. We also really liked the cats who seem to live next door but come and say 'hello' to the ground floor balconies!
The diving is also very good - Ocean Frontiers are efficient and helpful, although a 40 minute surface interval when diving on air, going to 25m+ (if you go with the dive guide) doesn't give you much bottom time on either dive. Not sure why they go so deep at times as there wasn't always a huge amount to see. The stingray trip is certainly worth it, too! « less

- The resort is located at the eastern district of Grand Cayman. Due to it's location, there is no fancy restaurants near by. However, the resort has one of most organized and friendliest dive operation I ever experienced.
The resort does not have any restaurant in house. There is a Vivian's kitchen that serves local Caymanian cuisines. There is a famous Light House restaurant about 10 min. drive. Best bet is to drive to the market and stock up your fridge so you can make your own breakfast and lunch before and between your AM and PM dives.
The staffs at the resort/ dive operation are great. They will bend over backward to make your stay as comfortable as possible. But, you will find out your self very quickly, that your room has all the amendities of home and the furnishings and items within are really made of quality goods. The kitchen has all the items to make any chief feeling at home. The bathrooms are clean and fresh. The beds are very comfortable. Every unit has washer and dryer included. It makes one feel that you are living at someone else's home. In reality, you are. Because the resort also offers fractional ownership for these "condos" thus you ARE staying in someone else's home.
Diving staffs are very knowledgable of the dive sites. They are all very professional and organized. They offer both guided and unguided diving, provided that you know what you are doing if you wish to be unguided. It is obsolutely important that one must practice good diving technique and stay off the corals and definitely no gloves.
Wake up early in the morning and go out to the dock and watch the sunrise. You will not be dissapointed. « less

- This was an outstanding property. I have nothing bad to say about our wonderful stay at Compass Point. The staff is extremely friendly and knowlegeable, and the dive sites that they took us to were fantastic. These people really know SCUBA. If you are here to dive, then this is the place to be. Don't let the location scare you away. Georgetown is not where you want to stay on Grand Cayman. You can get a rent-a-car for dollars a day. It's worth the drive to be on the East End side of the island. Special thanks to Britta, Brad, Maui, and any of the other wonderful staff members that we have failed to mention at the Compass Point/Ocean Frontiers. Also, their efforts as a "green" property are great as well. They make the extra effort to educate people on how wasteful the average accomodations can be. « less

- I was a bit leary about staying out on the East End, but now I won't dive or stay anywhere else on Grand Cayman. Compass Point and Ocean Frontiers has now set the bar for the greatest of dive vacations. The condo was immaculate, well appointed and oh so convenient to the private beach with cabana lounges, to the boats and to the pool. The crew was extraordinary...highly skilled, extremely personable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that you have the greatest and safest dive experience....they seemed to have a 6th sense about anticipating what you needed even before you thought it. The dive sites were incredible...a real benefit was that they literally were 5-10 minutes from the dock....I was in awe of the beauty of each dive site...of course next time, I'm going to order up some sunlight to create even prettier dive sites. It was an awesome week!!! « less
