- I gave a review in the middle of my stay. Just thought I would note a few more things
The Marriott is still in a prime location on the 7 mile beach, great snorkling 10 feet out, good service, clean.
Where the but comes in is the food
Both restaurants at this hotel are expensive, We participated in the BBQ at the beach night, $35 Cayman which equals ~ $40 each, all of the meat and salmon were overcooked, sides were not good. So basically for a $40 plate, I felt sick and unsatisfied.
However, I must mention, never had sit-down service in the restaurant, but the BBQ made me shy away from trying.
The Reef Grille at the Royal Palms should not be missed for dinner, several blocks to the left average entree $25-$40, delicious food and great service. Mezza restaurant several blocks to the right also very good.
Bring your own snorkel gear to save money on renting, especially since you will be tempted to snorkel daily
The hotel does not have much going on in activities/entertainment, flyers are distributed about balloon tosses, vollyball, etc, but many times we never saw it or the one game was very lackluster
Goergetown was a nice venture, it's like a typical port dock for cruise ships, lot's of restaurants, jewelry stores and souvenier shops. We ventured on the Atlantis submarine night dive, goes 100Feet under the sea, was $99 per person, very interesting. We ate at Breezes there, enjoyed good food and great service, great Carribean atmosphere.
Also, night life ends kind of early in most places, like midnight. One club my daughters ventured to called the Next Level had lots of weed smoking
So overall, this is still a great hotel to stay, but venture out to eat « less

- The courtyard marriot in cayman islands is the best!
Everyone is sooo nice and helpful. Me and my boyfriend booked this trip through cheapcarribean.com and got upgraded to an ocean view room and free breakfast for two each day as part of our package deal.
The hotel is very clean and bright. We stayed in september and it was very quiet, we always had the pool and beach to ourselves which was great. Its alittle far from georgetown and some restaurants but we took the bus (right outside the hotel $2) it wasnt a problem for us. the pool is great at night and it didnt seem to close. We saw tons of iguanas and lizards all over the hotel grounds. So cool. And can i say the ocean is AMAZING! Just breathtakingly beautiful. clear blue gentle waves and white sand. great snorkeling right at the hotel. We saw colorful fish and 2 stingrays!! If your staying at this hotel you will love it. i honestly thought the courtyard had the best location on 7 mile beach.
Grand cayman is a wonderful place to visit. don't forget to go to stingray city! I cried alittle when we left. Its such a magical place:) « less

- My wife and I stayed for 7 nights at Courtyard, and were very pleased with everything. While the food was fairly uninspired in the main restaurant and the beach bar, there is easy access via inexpensive bus rides to extremely good dining as well as downtown area. There was snorkeling right off the beach, and while the reef was not particularly spectacular, it served very well to get back in practice and see some fish and coral. As a previous traveler noted, it is going out of service soon and being turned into a fancy Rennaisance resort. Get there soon! « less

- I am a well traveled individual traveling to the Carribbean and Mexico yearly and found this resort delightful. Don't think regular Courtyard, think small resort. It occupies both sides of the two lane road that runs down 7 mile beach with its beach bar and resteraunt dirrectly across the street on the beach. Its located on an excellent part of 7 mile beach on the quieter end where its wide and has a good reef for snorkling. Rooms are pretty average courtyard but I had a great ocean view. I don't spend allot of time in the room anyways except to sleep and change. Rooms have refrigerators which is nice to store drinks to bring to the beaches. While we were there it was anounced that the "resort" will close after this winters heavy season to be remodeled to compete with the higher end hotels in the area. Read that at no more $140 a night rooms. The staff was excellent, friendly and began to know us quicky and greated us constantly. I am use to this as people in the Carribbean seem to be much more friendly that most us Americans are use too. Its going to be a shame to see this place go. « less
