- if you want to be treated well and get the best value of your money, you must consider Faros Hotel Istanbul. A family owned and operated hotel where you are not just a guest but literally treated like a family. The Reception manager Mr. Guven was nice and very friendly and helpful and went out of his way to provide me with any request I had. Mr. Haluk, the hotel manager made sure I had a comfortable stay and even the owner invited me one afternoon to drink a special Turkish coffee with him on the terrace.
My room was very nice and newly decorated, private air condition control with high speed internet which worked all over the hotel. Most importantly I enjoyed the free breakfast with fresh squeezed orange juice and a great Turkish food in the evening at their outdoor terrace restaurant overlooking the main boulevard. I definitely recommend Faros Istanbul... oh..one more thing, your transportation from and to the airport are free with the compliments of the hotel. « less

the staff is particularly helpful, with advices on trips and visits, choosing dishes at the restaurant, etc. since travelled with kids (11 and 18), the friendly nature of the staff was highly appreciated. the location is perfect, 5 min away from blue mosque, the bazaar or ayasophia and there is a subway station 200m away.
very good food at the hotel restaurant and moderately priced. rooms were clean and comfortable. overall, a good stay and a welcome feeling from all the staff. « less

- We chose this hotel through tripadvisor review and we were not disappointed. Surprisingly spacious family room to sleep 4 and a large Bath. Tea coffee maker and a refrigerator along with a locker were a welcome addition. The service was impeccable, Bugro the manager at the reception is a dream come true for a tourist, he is genuinely concerned and goes the extra mile to make you comfortable. One can not ask for a better location, The blue mosque , Aya sofia , the cistern and the grand mosque are within 300 meter radius with the tram stopping some 50 meters away from the Hotel . Mc Donald’s on the opposite street and Star Buck shares a common wall. Great cafes near by including the COZY RESTAURANT (awesome) and the MAdo cafe some 50 meters down towards the blue mosque. Avoid the eating joint selling WAFFLES opposite right of this hotel for outride rude service and bad food.
The hotel really made us comfortable and added to the lovely time we had in Istanbul « less
