- OK, I must admit - I have not stayed at The Clarendon because I actually live in the Phoenix area, but it's a favorite spot to meet up with friends. When I go there, I do feel like I've traveled to a different city! So I guess you can say it's my own way of taking a trip. I have been there on several occasions as a patron at Gallo Blanco, the hotel bar and restaurant, and I have also taken The Clarendon's rooftop yoga classes.
I have toured around and peeked in to a room or two and have had cocktails poolside (beautiful tile art, btw). I can say that coming from someone like me (picky clean freak, all about the ambiance and feel of a place), The Clarendon is definitely one of the cooler places in Phoenix, without being pretentious. I love the artwork, the color scheme, and I like that it's got a casual, open-minded attitude (if a hotel can have an attitude), yet the service is friendly and professional.
If I had friends or associates coming to town for business or pleasure (and I didn't want them staying with me, ha), I would highly recommend The Clarendon. In a heartbeat. « less

- My first stay at the Clarendon was long, long ago. Different age, different owners. Over the years I've seen this property evolve into the shining gem it is now. When in Phoenix, and our travel budget says yes, we're all about staying at the Clarendon and enjoying the "down time" after working long days. Thanks to Ben and his staff, it's THE place to stay when in the Big City. « less

- My admin set me up in this boutique hotel last spring and I have been more than happy to return as a guest twice since then, The Clarendon is central and close to good eats, night life, and cultural venues. My rooms were all spacious, cool, and artsy with large flat screen TVs/good wi-fi/i-Pod docking stations. Also, as a bodybuilder their in-house gym rates as one of the best I have seen anywhere- and I've pumped hotel iron on 4 continents- they squeeze a LOT of equipment into a small but very well laid out space. Their pool and whirlpool area is very hip and a good place to relax tired muscles and to watch people. Lastly, the Gallo Blanco restaurant, attached to the hotel, serves healthy, excellent, and locally sourced food. The hotel staff has been almost universally helpful, congenial, and responsive to my particular needs and requests . I'll be back. « less

Thank you so much for the comments! Especially on the fitness facility - it definitely has pretty much everything a serious weightlifter would want, and more. We're working on making sure the space doesn't seem as tight and will do a new layout in there soon!
We can't wait to have you back soon - you'll see some improvements to the rooftop, entrance, lobby, and guest room bathrooms very soon....
Thank you again!

- My wife came across this interesting hotel online, and we were really glad she did. Everything was fun, interesting, and just right.
The rooms are spacious, with extra large flat screen TVs. The wireless internet was strong and worked perfectly. The towels were large, fluffy, and absorbant. Accommodations were just fine and everything felt right.
The restaurant serves very tasty Mexican food (not New Mexican). Try the guacamole - it's just about the best we've ever had. The restaurant is full of young people having fun, and it's obviously a hip place to be.
We went to see some D-Back games, and the hotel was 10 minutes from the park. Stay here - you won't be disappointed. « less
