Location. The Spanish-style Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort is set amid 27 acres of landscaped grounds in Phoenix, Ariz. This resort stands at the foot of the Phoenix Mountain Park.
Hotel Features. This mountainside retreat affords panoramic views and includes a replica of an old Western town that is available for group events. Dining options include the Hole in the Wall, serving cowboy-style cuisine in a 1940s renovated ranch house. Slim Pickin's features casual poolside dining at the River Ranch water park. La Cabana serves Slim Pickin's fare at the main outdoor pool. The River Ranch is a four-acre water park that boasts the Slippery Rock slide and a one-half mile Lazy River. The resort offers an 18-hole putting course and four Plexipaved, lighted tennis courts. The TocaSierra Spa and Salon offers a range of body and beauty treatments, including body wraps, facials and manicures. The adjoining fitness center houses a lap pool and cardiovascular and weight-training equipment. Pilates classes are offered for a fee. Coyote Camp offers swimming, art projects, and cooking and cultural classes for children ages four to 12. Reservations are required.

Guestrooms. The Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort offers 563 suites in two four-story buildings with exterior corridors. Accommodations feature warm, earth-tone color schemes and gilt-framed art. Casitas provide kitchenettes. Hilton Serenity Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, down duvets and hypoallergenic feather/down pillows. All accommodations include coffeemakers. High-speed Internet access is available for a fee.

Expert Tip. The resort's Fun Coordinators schedule activities including Bingo, scavenger hunts and watermelon-eating contests. Seasonal "Dive Into Movies" are complimentary and are shown from late May through late August at the outdoor pool.

My husband & I stayed at this resort February 13-21, 2010. Absolutely loved it.

We were greeted by David Richardson at check in. Cannot say enough about his outstanding customer service. David placed us in room 2333 a "purified" room. Few more words about David--Awesome, friendly, tuned in to the customer seeking a great stay. Hilton folks: this guy is a jewel !

This room was a king suite. It was the best. Centrally located with easy access to everything at the resort. The layout was excellent. Impeccably clean, (Maria does a great job). There was a spacious living area which included a comfy sofa, oversized side chair, office desk/chair area, TV and wet bar area. The wet bar area had a mini fridge and granite counter tops which held the coffee maker etc. There is a central area between the living space and bedroom which houses the bath and sink/dressing area. This room is separated by double doors--nice touch. The king bedroom is off the bath area separated by a pocket door--love that feature and here's why: I could have privacy later in the evening with full access to the bed and bath area while my husband visited with a family member/guest out in the living area. Hilton thought of everything!! The king bead was comfy, lined with pillows. The room had it's own TV as well. Off the King room was a lovely private balcony. My husband & I brewed hot tea and sat on the balcony every morning with the USA Today paper that was delivered to our doorstep.--Great way to start a day--relaxing. There were waterfalls outside our balcony both in the front and in the back. In the evenings we would leave our bedroom patio door open using only the screen and the sound of the falls really adds to the relaxed mood even more--sweet touch. Highly recommend this room :)

Brad Wills in Shipping Dept is one other person to mention. Brad is fantastic. He will help you with any shipping needs during your stay. He is very friendly and goes out of his way to ensure excellent quality service. He has soome great stories too :)

The resort: the lazy river is the best thing this resort has going for it. Absolutely LOVED it. The river winds around the water park area and a leisurely pace. Water temp is just perfect. You can stay on it as long as you like. The blue tubes are the most comfy. One thing is for sure--you will NEVER have a problem finding a lounger chair. Tons of them everywhere and nicely placed--not too crowded. The quality of the outdoor furnishings exceeded my expectations. Beautiful designs/textures. They provided extra thick lounge cushions making it very easy to fall asleep while sunning--again, relaxing. Pool towels were provided in abundance--as many as you needed or liked. I like extra so that was sweet. They have servers from the bar/restaurant area should you desire refreshments delivered right to your chair--Hi Jessie!--she was great. This resort has very nice landscaping, lots of greenery, sort of surprising and again exceeded my expectations.

Restaurant called "Hole in the Wall" has a daily happy hour 4-6. Order the veggie sandwich and sweet potato fries--awesome. They also have Blue Moon beer on tap served with the signature orange slice and it goes great with the sandwich. The Hole in the Wall has a fabulous outdoor patio with a fireside pit area--very nice. We tried the other restaurant and ordered salads--just okay. Walk outside the front of the resort turn left and follow the chili peppers painted on the side walk about 1-2 blocks. This leads you to the GREATEST Mexican food restaurant called "Aunt Chiladas". This is an old historical structure and has a fantastic outdoor patio seating area. The food is great and reasonably priced. Please go--trust me, you will not regret it. I wish we had found it sooner because we would have been frequent visitors :)

We have stayed at many 4-5 star resorts and this one ranks right there with them. We will definitely return again.
