- Not super fancy, so don’t expect that. I think anyone with a bad review was just expecting a luxury hotel for super cheap.
Our room was HUGE, with a kitchenette and air conditioning. Shower could have been nicer and better showerhead maybe.
Soooo close to Disney! We would just walk back and forth and have some food in our room instead of eating at the park. I would say maybe a 10 minute walk from our room door to Main Street Disney, actually IN the park. Not just to the resort entrance.
Plenty of restaurants around to choose from. We found a grocery store not too far away so just stocked our mini fridge with food and drinks.
Breakfast… well I am not too picky but it could have been better. They had milk and cereal and fresh fruit and juices which were good. The pastries weren’t fabulous though. I would probably just stick to the cereal or toast and some fruit.
I would most likely stay here every time I visit. For what you pay I don’t think you could even ask for more.
oh and free parking is awesome to have as well! « less

- When I spoke to someone directly at the hotel, I ws told that the "superior" room I was getting had been recently "redone" and that there was a view of the fireworks at Disneyland from our room. The second thing was certainly not true, and as for the room being redone, I cannot speak to the quality of the other rooms, but ours looked and smelled old and dingy. the floor was uneven, with all kinds of lumps under a stained carpet, and the bathtub had all kinds of marks from previously laid non stick tiles or mats that had been used in it. Also, the wood frame around the door was rotting. The A/C was an old noisy unit and the two rollaway beds brought to my room were terrible(the first was completely unacceptable with coils sticking out of the mattress, and the second was a plastic mattress that was also uncomfortable). In the end my daughter ended up sharing a bed with me. We checked out after one night because we did not want to spend any more time there even though it was a great location for visiting Disneyland. We switched over to the Ramada Plaza on Katella which was far superior. i cannot understand how two properties from the same company can be so disparate in quality. This is not an issue one finds, for example with the Marriot hotel chain wher the Fairfield Inns, are much simpler than a JW Marriot, but a guest can always count on a certain level of quality-the Ramada should follow their example. « less

- We are happy to say we make Ramada Maingate our hotel choice when going to Disneyland. We have stayed at many of the surrounding hotels, but The Ramada has quickly become our favorite due to the great rates, free breakfast, and our favorite, the LOCATION!
We definately recommend this hotel if you are going to Disneyland. « less Read management response to this review.

- Cannot say enough about how nice and accomodating the staff was with us. From check in to housekeeping to maintenance, all wonderful. But the room needed new carpet (and I don't consider myself overly picky about such things) and the air conditioning unit was up high by the bathroom and I think it had been leaking or dripping because it smelled kind of funny in that corner and on the second morning 2 out of 5 of us had headaches. We never could get on the free high speed internet - it kept kicking us off, much to my teenager's dismay. The free breakfast does not include waffles, which we knew upfront, but when the toaster broke on day 2 and we were just told "sorry" instead of a staff member running out to buy another, there went our hot breakfast item. And the cereal selection dwindled from 3 to 1 also on day 2. I realize this is a very busy hotel due to the location (5 mins to Disney on foot!) so I would think they would be prepared to accomodate us all at breakfast time. And we always went early so it wasn't like we were catching the tail end of breakfast. Pool and hot tub were fabulous. Parking is an issue if you have to leave. Spots fill up and people tend to stay parked their entire stay. The rate and the location was perfect but next time we will pick a newer or at least updated hotel. « less

Thank you for taking the time to share your comments and concerns with fellow travelers as well as us. I am pleased that you enjoyed our location and that our staff provided you and your family with outstanding service. I am disappointed to hear your comments in regards to the guest room and continental breakfast. You were in one of our older rooms that have not yet been renovated. We are looking forward to starting renovations in these rooms in just a few weeks. We will be updating these rooms and replacing items such as carpet, draperies, bedding, etc. We will also be renovating the bathroom. We also will be doing future renovations which will include a new breakfast room. I apologize for the inconvenience with the air conditioning in your room. I believe we could have rectified the issue if we were made aware. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed the pool and hot tub as well. I believe with the many renovations to come we will be an ideal property for you and your family. We really appreciate these comments as it helps guide us for our upcoming renovations. Also, we do offer new premium rooms that have full renovations. It is my hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you. I would enjoy talking with you further in regards to your stay and making it right. Please feel free to contact me directly at the property or email at jessica@ramadamaingate.com.
