Glenmore Plaza Hotel

The Glenmore Plaza Hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Avalon, the only town on Santa Catalina, a popular island off of southern California. Commonly known as Catalina, the island is a picturesque tourist destination, although much of the island was purchased in 1975 by the Santa Catalina Island Conservancy and now is preserved against development. Most visitors to Catalina come for water sports, hiking, horseback riding and cycling trails. Visitors can get to Catalina on one of the regular cruises from Long Beach, San Pedro, Redondo Beach or Newport Beach.
Located just steps from the beach, the Glenmore is a four-story Victorian hotel with 46 non-smoking guestrooms, each featuring cable TV, complimentary toiletries, ceiling fan, and mini-refrigerator upon request. Complimentary amenities include wireless Internet access in the lobby, daily continental breakfast, and transportation to and from the boat dock. The hotel does not have a restaurant or an elevator.
