The Chanric Inn

Location. The Chanric Inn is located in Calistoga, Calif., in the Napa Valley. The inn is one-quarter mile from the city’s downtown area, and approximately three miles from the Reverie Vineyard and Winery, the D’Antilio Family Vineyard and the Vista Vineyard.
Features. This Victorian-style bed and breakfast was renovated in 2006. The modern design of the interior is characterized by dark hardwood floors, leather furniture, clean lines, and royal red and olive hues. Trays of tea and coffee are delivered to the guestrooms early each morning, and complimentary gourmet breakfasts, featuring ingredients from local organic farms when possible, are served restaurant-style. Guests may dine at an intimate table for two, in the dining room or alfresco on the sun-drenched patio. Complimentary wireless Internet access is available throughout the inn. A private pool area boasts a freeform outdoor pool, spa tub and sauna complemented by roses, grapevines and views of the Palisades Mountains. The innkeepers can arrange for poolside or in-house massages. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. Guestrooms are decorated in muted colors and furnished with sleigh beds and nightstands with candles. Most guestrooms include private bathrooms. All accommodations feature Pima-cotton towels, monogrammed bathrobes, and complimentary Aveda and Neutrogena bath products. Beds are dressed with Egyptian-cotton linens, and down comforters and pillows. Complimentary bottled water and snacks are provided.

Expert Tip. Active vacationers can head seven miles north of Calistoga to the Robert Louis Stevenson State Park, where the classic author of "Treasure Island" honeymooned in 1980. The park offers a challenging five-mile hike through evergreen forests and chaparral to the top of Mount St. Helena, where visitors can view much of the San Francisco Bay area.
