Location. The Grand Hyatt Denver, located within eight blocks of the Lower Downtown Historical District, draws upon Denver's history and natural beauty for its design elements. The hotel is just two blocks from the 16th Street Mall and four blocks from the convention center. Those visiting the area on government business are seven blocks from the gold-domed Capitol.

Hotel Features. The dignified lobby is anchored by a 20-foot sandstone fireplace and a morning coffee café, Mugs, that serves Starbucks coffee. Business travelers, attracted by the convenient location, may use the 24-hour full-service business center. A rooftop mini-resort offers an indoor pool and spa tub, outdoor tennis court, sundeck, running track, and full range of exercise equipment. The 147-seat restaurant, 1876, is named for the year that Colorado achieved statehood. Specializing in contemporary Western fare, this restaurant features a rustic mix of wrought-iron, granite and cherry wood décor. The Pinnacle Club is located atop the hotel's 38-story tower and offers an expansive view of the Front Range of the Rockies and small-plate cuisine designed for sharing. Fireside Terrace serves cocktails, microbrews, light dishes and desserts adjacent to the lobby fireplace. Live music is provided daily, beginning at 5 PM.

Guestrooms. This 26-story hotel has 516 rooms with mountain and/or city views. Accommodations include Hyatt's signature mattresses, 250-thread-count triple sheeting, down blankets, decorative throw and an array of European pillows. Guestrooms include flat-panel HD televisions and Internet access for a fee.

Expert Tip. A hike to the 15th step located on the west side of the State Capitol building places visitors at 5,280 feet of elevation-precisely one mile-above sea level. Nameplates identify visible Rocky Mountain peaks within a 150-mile span.
