The Maples Inn

Location. The Maples Inn, located in the charming New England village of New Canaan, Conn., is situated one half-mile from the city’s train station. Across the street from this bed and breakfast is a nature center with pleasant hiking trails, and immediately next door is a restaurant. Guests looking for fine New England golf can head to the Oak Hills or Sterling Farms Golf Courses, each less than six miles away.

Hotel Features. This turn-of-the-century inn welcomes guests with a wood-burning fireplace, ancestral portraits and tasteful appointments. A wraparound porch encourages socializing and an outdoor deck with a barbecue pit offers the perfect venue for outdoor dining. The Maples Inn is complemented by lush gardens surrounding the house. Dry-cleaning services are available along with laundry facilities. A continental breakfast is served every morning to guests occupying standard rooms and suites.

Guestrooms. Antiques and furnishings from the host’s own collection, embracing the ambience of a bygone era, adorn the guestrooms at The Maples Inn. All units have private bathrooms, and guestrooms in which the bathrooms are not en-suite are provided with bathrobes. Many rooms feature four-poster canopy beds. Included are modern conveniences such as a telephones and cable televisions with DVD players. Kitchenettes, which are included in the standard room and suite units, have mini-fridges and coffeemakers. One- and two-bedroom apartments have full kitchens. Guests have the opportunity to book an en-suite massage through the innkeepers (fees apply).

For suite rentals, rates are based on two people. The third and fourth guest will incur an extra $25 per person, per night at check-in. For two-bedroom rentals, rates are based on four people. The fifth and sixth guest will incur an extra $25 per person, per night at check-in. Rollaway beds are included in the extra $25 charge.
