The Morgan Inn

Location. The Morgan Inn is located in the quaint town of Pawcatuck, Conn., one-half mile from the Rhode Island border. The inn is less than seven miles from the Mystic Seaport, which offers museums, whale cruises, shops and an aquarium. The bed and breakfast is approximately seven miles from the Jonathan Edwards Winery. The Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Resort and Casinos are within 25 miles.
Features. This 1928 restored Colonial home began as a family estate and became an inn in 1961. Complimentary full breakfasts, including fruit, juice, French toast or eggs, or pancakes with sausage or bacon, are served daily in the dining area. Complimentary beverages and desserts are always available. Several features of the home, including the paned glass windows and French doors, have been refurbished. Antique phonographs and photo albums are showcased throughout the inn. Guests have access to a main room, sun porch and patio. Pets are not allowed at this property.

Guestrooms. The Morgan Inn offers five guestrooms decorated with collectibles from the 1940s, including sheet music. Accommodations are equipped with cable television and air conditioning. All units include private bathrooms, and some offer in-room pedestal sinks. Select rooms overlook the gazebo and hammock in the backyard. Antique furniture, including an English wardrobe, vanity, a framed sailing vessel and wooden RCA radio, varies from room to room.

Expert Tip. The Morgan Inn is named after Charles W. Morgan, a famous whaling industry giant whose fishing vessel is still on display in Mystic Harbor.
