Location. Set amid verdant gated grounds, Boca Raton Resort - The Waldorf Astoria features old-world charm and an array of amenities. The resort is adjacent to a stretch of private beach and is located one mile from Mizner Park. The resort is 10 miles from Butterfly World and 25 miles from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport.

Hotel Features. The pink, palatial Boca Raton Resort - The Waldorf Astoria features elaborately carved ceilings, formal courtyards, fountains and arcades. Visitors can play a round of golf at the resort or at the adjacent Boca Country Club. Guests can sunbathe and swim at the outdoor pool or beach, play tennis on one of 30 available courts, try a yoga class at the fitness center, and relax with an indulgent thermal hydro-bath or Swedish massage at Spa Palazzo. The resort features 19 dining venues. Lucca offers Italian fare such as tuna carpaccio and bisteca alla Fiorentina. The Cabana Dining Room is open for breakfast and lunch, and on Friday nights, the Cabana features its signature seafood buffet with lobster and stone crabs on the menu. Additional property amenities include a full-service business center and gift shops.

Stayed here for our wedding anniversary. We were upgraded twice and ended up with a beatiful suite at the Yacht Club overlooking the Marina. The staff was very courteous and friendly. They do charge a daily resort fee which include several things like your internet (wired), lemonade at the lobby, the grauities for the bellman at check in/out, etc. The hotel has several buildings for accommodations. The Cloister which is the oldest building in the property (built in 1926) with beatiful architechture, reason why some comments rooms are dark. All the rooms (at least the one we saw were renovated), the Tower which is a high rise, the Yach Club which faces the marina and the 2 top floors are part of their Commodore Club (Club Floor). They have on the island which is accross the hotel thru the intercoastal waterway, the Beach Club. The rooms are beutifully done, very modern (we requested to see one), it has 3 pools all adjacent to each other, one of them is for adults only. The beach is at the end of the island, so it is not crowded. The last section of the hotel is the Bungalows which are not really within the hotel main property is a bit far off and for that it has its own self parking which if you have a car is free (compared to a parking fee if you stay at any of the other buildings). They have regular rooms and also have 1 and 2 bedroom units with kitchens (like apartments). This section also has its own pool.

There are several restaurants on the premises, and although we only ate at Cielo, which is at the top floor of the tower building and one of their signature restaurants, the service was excellent but the food was not as spectacular as the view, although it was not bad. I personally thought it was going to be better. Room service was efficient and the food was good. They do impose the service charge automatically, but I have seen this practice very often lately and wonder if this is the new trend some resorts are adopting.

Overall the hotel is beatiful, staff was very friendly and there are many eating venues, but it is a huge resort. So if you are looking for a more cozy, intimate place this might not be it, since it is big, very busy and very kid friendly you will see quite a bit of children all over. Their spa is absolutely magnificent and its is beatiful, you should visit it even if you don't get a massage. We would absolutely return again. « less
