Location. The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, Fla., is a lush tropical oasis situated along the Gulf of Mexico on Florida's scenic southwest coast. Encircled by huge palm trees, the hotel is adjacent to a tropical paradise, Estero Bay. The Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa is just six miles from the Everglades Wonder Gardens.
Hotel Features. Abundant gardens and majestic palm trees create a welcoming backdrop for this resort. Tarpon Bay Restaurant offers tables with a view and gourmet seafood, while the remaining dining options include poolside fare, grilled specialties, coffee and light lunches. Trendy boutiques and shops are on-site and wireless Internet access is available in the hotel's public locations. A spectacular free-form pool and comfortable sundeck offer an escape to relax in the sun's warm rays. The hotel features the 18-hole Raptor Bay Golf Club course, designed by Raymond Floyd. A 19,000-square-foot spa and exercise facility includes 18 treatment rooms, a Watsu pool, massage and water therapies, facials and a beauty salon. The on-site fitness center offers a cardiovascular machine and free weights. The hotel features two splash pools and one lap pool that includes a 5,000-square-foot lagoon with a water slide, waterfall and fountain. The resort offers two hydro-grid tennis courts. Complimentary transportation is available to the golf course and the resort's private marina.

Guestrooms. Pet-friendly guestrooms include step-out balconies with golf course, pool, garden or bay views. Guestrooms feature fine cherry wood furnishings, desks, armchairs and ottomans. Thick bathrobes, high-speed Internet access, ceiling fans and DVD players are also included.

We stayed at this resort for five nights, Jan 16-20. We arrived at noon having come from the Ft. Meyers - Naples airport, approx a half hour drive. The resort is located about a mile and a quarter from the main highway, Rt 41.We were informed that our room was not ready and they would inform us when it was available. At 2 PM we had our room on the 14th floor. We had booked a balcony partial bay view room. Our room had a french balcony overlooking the bay. This balcony was 18 inches wide, therefore one could not sit on it. I notified the front desk and was told a full balcony room would be available the next day. No problem, we moved to a bay view room on the 11th floor. The room and bath are A-1. A large flat screen TV and DVD player among many other perks. The resort has two large heated pools and a pool with a waterfall that is not. Lots of chaise longues around the pools. Shade if you want it can be found. The whole pool area was uncrowded.The one pool has a waterslide which looked like fun. We did use bikes that are provided and went over to the resorts sister property where the golf course and lazy river pool are located. The golf course looked good and the pool the same. The resort has a shuttle that takes you from one property to the other should you wish to go. This shuttle also goes to the resort marina, where a ferry can be boarded to get to an island with a beach. We did get to the boat and just took a ride to this island. A 15 minute ride each way. Saw some dolphins playing in the bay. This resort is half way between Ft Meyers and Naples so you can take your pick of things in the area to do. Plenty of restaurants are within three miles of the Hyatt. They range from medium high end (Ruths Chris) to Pizza places. The hotel restaurants are also available. We did eat there three mornings. The breakfast buffet was good and was $22.00. The resort staff does a nice job and will answer questions easily. Drinks are hotel priced, fairly high. Many business groups stay at this resort. All in all, this is a first class place, You do pay first class prices for everything but you get first class service, By the way, parking is free. We would go back in a minute but maybe wait until march. 10 degrees warmer would have been nice. « less
