- As I write this, I am currently at Vistana enjoying a great family vacation. Let me preface this by saying my family and I are pretty laid back and we're just happy to be in Florida on vacation. We are happy as long as we have a clean, safe place to sleep. Anyway, we have a one year old so it was important that we stayed at a family-oriented place without a crazy crowd that FL sometimes attracts. Vistana is a very nice place for those with kids, they have great things for kids to do for a minimal fee, although our daughter was too young to participate. They also have a few free things for kids to do, including a free movie night out by the pool and a free arts and craft project. Our place is great, it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers and our room has a nice jacuzzi tub that fits 2 easily. They gave us a crib for our daughter which was very convenient. The kitchen is awesome, it is fully stocked so we took advantage of this and cooked in most nights. They also offer grills which we also used. The town is small and quiet, but it was exactly what we were looking for. We ate at Crawdaddy's one night and the food was excellent and the service was great too, nothing like what we read on here.
I have a few minor complaints--but nothing big at all. We had housekeeping service one day (they offer it once a week) and I thought they would clean up everything like they do in normal hotels. Not the case, they just replenished the towels and that was it. I was hoping they would clean up the sand and make the beds, but they pretty much did nothing. No biggie though, I am totally capable of cleaning up after my family. Another thing, we didn't really have a great view of the ocean, it was more of the pool. Again, no big deal, we spent a lot of time outside the room. The pool is small but served it's purpose. I came to FL to go to the beach anyway.
Staff was very nice and willing to help with questions.
Overall, I am very happy with our vacation and would return in a heartbeat. « less

- My family and I stayed here in July 2010. Multi-generational, from my 2 year old nephew to my 59 year old mother. We did a property exchange from the Marriott Vacation Club in order to be near Port St Lucie and surprise my great Aunt for her birthday.
Let's just say it was not an even exchange from the Vacation Club properties we were used to. It doesn't even seem to fit in with Starwood properties. The rooms are small, they say it sleeps 8, but there is no way I would suggest more than 5 adults. The furniture is pretty uncomfortable, but there are flat screen TVs and decent kitchens. The pool area is extremely small, with very few chairs. The hotel seems to try and make up for the lack of restaurant and beach activities by having events on site. While we were there there was a Mary Kay seminar, a tooth whitening event and other craft classes.
The staff isn't overly cooperative or accommodating. The one glaring problem we had was mold on the towels. When we told the front desk they didn't take much responsibility for it, pushing blame on their laundering service, which may be the case, but I don't think that is how to handle customer issues. They also seem to nickle and dime guests as far as charging for new towels and sheets. I kind of think clean towels are a given when staying at a property.
I will say it is literally sitting on the beach and the views are lovely. The beach itself is very short, but really nice and has lots of shells for collectors. It doesn't seem to get crowded at the beach and the water was very warm.
So overall it wasn't a bad place to stay--as long as your expectations are in line with what you will be getting. If you expect a Marriott Vacation Club resort, you will be disappointed. If you expect a run of the mill condo on the beach, that is more accurate. « less

- This was a nice resort. Simple, clean, small and perfectly situated on the beach. It is not a "grand" resort, but that's what we wanted. Something small and quiet.
Pool - it is very small, like others had said. Really, too small. The winds whip in between the buildings where the pool is located, so it's not too enjoyable that way too.
Beach - It's wonderful. You can rent chairs for $3.00 a day.....totally worth it! The shells that naturally wash up are awesome. The breezes that blow across the water are perfect. It's missing any shade, but there is a gazebo that you can get a repreive in that looks over the beach.
Rooms - We had a 2 bed/2bath, full kitchen, room. Nicely decorated, clean, roomy. Beds were comfortable. We were in the "ocean-view" building on the 4th floor and it couldn't be a more lovely view.
No restaurants on the premises, but several fun/good ones close by.....Copacabana, Olympia's Greek Restaurant (we went twice, it was so good!) were just a few.
The drive on Hutchinson Island, going north was a fun drive.....all the way to Indian Point Beach was nice. « less

- Stayed for a week April 17 thru April 23. Had a two bedroom in the beachfront building. Second bedroom has twin beds, i found that a little strange and only one shower, the other bathroom had a roman tub. Other than that unit very nice. Flat screen TV in living room, balcony with chaise lounges and table with four chairs. Incredible views from balcony. Must leave property for dinner or drinks. No timeshare sales pressure at all. Pool small but functional. No laundry facilities in room, however free use of a washer and dryer on each floor. Any questions i would be happy to answer « less

- Traded our Hilton Head timeshare (Marriotts Grande Ocean), for this resort for the second time. Our son, his wife and grandson live nearby in Port St. Lucie. The Beach Club is a great place for us to be together. Last trip, 5 years ago, we stayed in the rear building. Nice. This trip, we were in the ocean front building. Very nice to wake up every morning with a sunrise over the atlantic to be veiwd from out bedroom. We even had breakfast on the balcony when it wasn't too windy. The kitchen worked well enough for us to make dinner for six guests.
With a 2 BDR unit the 1 shower was inconvenient. The large tub was never used.
Some great dinning is to be had at three of our favorite reastuarants in the nearby area.
THE PRAWNBROKER GRILL: 2754 S.E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart
BARE BONES GRILL AND BREWERY: 1725 S. E. Federal Highway, Stuart (beautifull patio dinning)
KAISHIN: 3750 Indian River Drive, Jensen Beach ( very good sushi, just over causeway from Hutchison Island). « less
