- I spent 3 nights at Vistana during the height of vacation season (Feb 14-17). I booked through AAA and paid @ $250.00 per night. As you might have read in other reviews this very high price does NOT guarantee a "waterfront" room. I stayed in a "water view" room. It was a beautiful 2 bedroom condo with an exceptional view of the water. I heard the ocean crashing to the shore at night. But it was not in the waterfront building. The back building, water view, is set at a slant so as to maximize ocean viewing. I was in room 401. This is a corner room set up high enough so as not to view the parking lot. I imagine that as you go higher the view would be even better.Traffic noise was a bit of a problem in the early morning as were the maintenance workers on the early shift. In a waterfront room we would not have been bothered by them. The pool was heated but small. There is no bar or restaurant, but they are close by. They have good recreational activities for the children. And there were many kids there. They were well behaved, but I wouldn't recommend Vistana as a couples destination. It was very cold when we were there, but the activities went on. This is a nice place, you just don't get a bang for your buck « less

- We stayed at the resort early February 2010. We are Starwood Vacation owners so we paid with our options. The options were wisely used, however there were some issues that might be of importance to those planning on staying here. It appears as the the property was built as a condo developement and was converted by Starwood. The pool is very small and there was no workout area. Also, those little soaps/ shampoo/laundry soap amenities that you would find standard in other Starwood properties are not supplied here. Likewise, the small market amenity you find at most Starwood properties is not on site. The good news is there are more (if not all) ocean front rooms. They were very clean and well maintained. The one VERY annoying thing with our villa on the 7th floor of first building was the water pressure was very low ( especially the hot water). The front desk said this occurs because the powerplant, which is located on the island, does "something" too make that happen. The temp on the hotwater ( the heater is in room) is NOT hot but warm . Trying to run a comfortable bath is quite an achievement. My husband did call down to the desk a second time after he discover not one, but TWO crimped copper pipes on the hot water tank. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of extra sheets, pillows and blankets in closet for your convenience. Washer and dryer are very loud and I had to rewash one load to get it completely fresh and clean. We are Platinum Starwood owners but could only get 1 hour extra on checkout time. Very disappointing. Other Starwood properties/hotels will allow 12:00 to 1:00pm extended checkout.. After complaining about the lack of courtesy, we were allowed to checkout at 12:00 noon. This is not common for Starwood and I found it very distressing. Still, staff did rectify the annoyances but I cannot score them higher than a 1 because of the second call to get satisfaction on both issues. Do not miss the Elliot Museum. One of the best presentations I have ever experienced and we do most all historical sightseeing when we travel to learn about the area we are visiting. There does not seem to be much for kids to do, other than the beach of course. The area of Jensen Beach/Hutchuinson Island seems to cater to retired folks and snow birds. I would return if I found the need to be in this part of Florida. « less

- This location rates in the top of all the numerous timeshares we have enjoyed over the past 10 years. As the realators say ...Location..Location...Location. We had a 9th floor ocenafront unit and view was fantastic. Only noise was the roar of the waves crashing on the beach. Not much to do in immediate area but only few hours from major attractions and shorter drives to others. Higly recommend Navy Seal Museum for those who like that type of thing. Some excellent small resturants nearby and Publix market for groceries within several miles.
2 minor mainenance problems and both were fixed within the hour. Desk staff was probably the most fiendly and courteous we have encountered. Some noise from chipping for painting but didn't last long.
Not the luxury's you will find in the huge timeshares but clean, comfortable and definitely a place we would return to,. « less

- We stayed at Vistana last year an liked it so much that we returned again this year. All of the units are two bedroom suites with spectacular views of the ocean. The beach is white sand and goes for miles! There are lots of shells for collecting and good bird-watching as well. The units have well equipped kitchens, Bose sound systems and upscale furnishings. Most of the staff have worked there for years and are really knowledgeable about the area. We really like this place! « less

- My wife and I really enjoyed this resort very much. Hutchinson Island is a very quiet beach area. The ocean is beautiful and warm here, although at times a little rough in November. The beach was beautiful and loaded with lots of sea shells.
This resort was great. We had a beachfront room on the sixth floor with incredible ocean views from the living room and master bedroom. The room was beautiful, spacious and seemed very new, with an extensive balcony The bathroom in the shower is a nice marble walk-in, not large, but big enough for two. The double-jacuzzi tub in the master bath is very nice to have if you want to soak and bubble in privacy. The grounds and pool area are small but nice and we enjoyed the jacuzzi every day. We hardly saw too many other people.
The resort does have some construction/remodeling going on through December, but we where never bothered or inconvienced by it.
The places in the area we enjoyed most are Bath Tub Reef at the far south end of the isand and Blind Creek Beach towards the north just past the power station. We did not care for Conchy Joes, but really enjoyed Casa Bella in Stuart for the best Italian food in the area in a very nice "beautiful house" setting. If you need groceries, go to Publix. It is very reasonable and has great selection of wines, meats, seafood, vegies and bakery items, etc. « less
