- First off, this place is now a Hilton. I stayed here for two nights for a work trip, I felt like I was the only non-couple in the place. Then again I didn't spend much time here, I was working most of the two days. And who goes to Key Largo for work anyway??
I just thought it was funny while dining that I was the only solo diner, every other table was a couple or couples.
Overall, great place to sleep at, very clean and big rooms. I had a standard king bed room that was more like a suite with a separate living area. I wish I would of had time to check out the resort. « less

- if you think you can take your dog to the beach area, forgett it,you are not allowed not even to walk your dog on the sand, that is not a pet friendly hotel.if you go to the pool, leave your dog in the room because he is not allowed to walk or be in the pool area, once you get to the front desk you have to sign a paper of agreement that your dog cannot be in any place in the hotel except in the lobby,in the room, and in the parking lot, that s it.Would I recommend this hotel to a friend,of course not,if he has a pet,no way.they lied to us when we made the reservation,we were told this is a pet friendly hotel and you see what we went thru.Never will I stay in this hotel again.at the pool bar 11.00 dollars for a drink, you have to sign in for towels at the pool.I rated this hotel a one.my room was to be oceanfront, once there I needed to upgrade for an extra 60.00 dollars a knight, they take your wallet away easy.my son is 18,he wanted to drive the jet ski and he was told he needed to go to the computer in the lobby and take a safety course he would be charged 30.00 dollars for this test,I believe is a very expensive course for 30 questions, you can see that for that, they also get a piece of the pie.never again.do your homework. « less

- Be sure to book the Gulf View rooms – the view is stunning. Be warned that the very thick and beautiful trees between the Gulf and the hotel will block the view on the first and second floors. The staff at this hotel are as friendly AND efficient as I have encountered anywhere. The pool was attractively landscaped, however, was not set up for lap swimming and had no view of the Gulf. The exercise room was large and had a number of treadmill / elliptical machines as well as a full set of dumbbells. There is a small icebox in the room. No laundry machines are available on the property.
The hotel has a quiet, laid back and Caribbean feel. The breakfast buffet was nice and typical Hilton - as a Gold HHonors member the breakfast (excluding the hot entrees as is normal) was complimentary. We enjoyed almost everything about this hotel. The almost is because, as noted by others, the parking charge just seems like an irritant at a non-city location.
Our cell phones had NO reception in our room, which was only 50 yards or so from the lobby, yet had all four bars in the lobby. Wireless is complimentary in the lobby and restaurant and I found the speed to be very adequate. « less

- Stayed at the resort over the weekend in mid August using Hilton Honors points. My experience from the booking with the Diamond Desk to the check in and check out process was very pleasant. Sher at the front desk was very hospitable and cheerful. She set the tone for the stay. Room was on the 4th floor with a water view. Room was clean and had plenty of space for the three of us. Terrible storm on the first night so we used room service, delivery was prompt and once again service was friendly, eventhough the young lady bring the food to the room had to experience the weather first hand. Perks for Diamond members were welcome and appreciated. If you are not looking for the party experience of Key West, stay here, you will not regret it. « less

- At first sight this Hotel looked fantastic with own shallow beach with water sports on offer.
We only stayed for 2 nights on our way down to the keys but that proved long enough at this Hotel.
Upon arrival at 4pm neither of our two rooms were ready. By 5pm we asked again what was the problem and I overheard the receptionist be given an 'ear bending' by the chamber maid who seems to have said 'rooms will be ready when I get around to them'!
Another hour passed and after kicking up a fuss we were asked very polity if we would like to go to dinner and our second room would be ready upon our return. Upon arrival back at the Hotel around 10ish both rooms were ready and we settled down for a good nights sleep.
We noticed that the air con wasn't to cold in the girls room and switched it up high as we know this keeps out the bugs. However within 5mins the daughters came in to our room as they had marching ants infesting their room. They were all over the door along the hallway, in the bath room and also within the beds!
As I pulled off the covers I noticed a darned rip in the linen and also a pink lipstick mark which would be a useful observation for later.
We phoned down to reception and complained and were told that they couldn't change rooms that night but they would send up someone in the morning. The girls slept with us that night. First thing in the morning down to reception for an formal complaint and were offered a free canoe ride and free icecream.
Back to the Room where I checked for signs of bugs – none found.
Asked for assurances that all the linen had been changed which they confirmed.
I then pulled back the covers to find the same ripped sheet with same pink lipstick mark. I turned over the pillow and found dead bug bodies stuck the underside the Pillow!
Back down to reception loud complaints made. That night both rooms were spotless even our reading books had been piled in to neet rows! I started to get a little concerned and even went so far as to hid our tooth brushes in the safe just in case!
In the morning packing to leave pulled open the top draw of the dressing table to find not one but TWO very large cockroaches sitting there looking at me. One was to big to fly and jumped out of the draw and darted for the dark the other was grabbed by my hubby in a swim suit and flung out of the window.
We were on the top floor above the tree line so are unsure as to how they got up so high. But we have our suspicions that they were transported there with a little helping hand!
We made lots of complaints to the management who wouldn’t refund our money for the first night - for a room which our girls couldn’t stay in and the second night spent with mr and mrs cockroach was equally not refunded.
A horrid experience. « less
