- Booked room 9 months in advance, when plenty of rooms were available, member of hyatt gold club, and when got there was given room right next to elevator which you could hear all night long! When I asked about another room I was told they were sold out! So much for reserving a room early in order to get a good one! « less

- This Hyatt Place is typical of the many other Hyatt Place properties I've been to. All have been built identically, all have the same breakfast, all have the same amenities.
Used the machine to check in, which is very efficient and the only way that I ever get airline miles correctly credited with any Hyatt. Room was the same as always, down to the sofa, comfy bed, the huge TV (limited channels, though, at this property), small fridge and single-cup coffee maker. Two computers and a printer just off the lobby are free for all to use.
Breakfast is good enough for me: fresh fruit, toast, good coffee, cereal. Yes, they charge if you want hot food, and no, you can't make your own waffles (why that's a thrill, anyway, is beyond me). But for business folk on the go, there's plenty here for free.
Property is located adjacent to some sort of arena or conference center which was empty when I stayed so things were quiet. I imagine it could be a different story when the place has an event.
Couldn't use the machine on checkout, and the poor front desk fellow locked himself out of the computer. Luckily, I wasn't in a rush, and it was resolved in 10 minutes with apologies. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again. « less

- This is a nice hotel for visiting the Lakeland area. It is literally within steps to the Lakeland Center. The rooms were fine, and we really appreciated the extra space. The desk people were always very helpful and welcoming at all times. I liked the check-in/check-out kiosk as well. Parking was a bit of an issue. They had no parking spaces left the Saturday we were there and our family ended up parking in the convention area. We were worried about getting towed but had no other option. Also, I bought a ham-and-cheese sandwich and I was surprised to find out it was $8! Otherwise, the free breakfast in the morning was good and made up for it. « less

- We were in town for a wedding and found this hotel to be perfectly accomodating. We stayed for two nights and it was just the right fit. This is most certainly not a resort by any stretch of the imagination, but it has all of the amenities you might need for a short stay. The pool is nice and quiet if you want to get some sun, but nothing fabulous. (They do provide towels and will bring lunch or whatever you might order out to the pool for you.) The beds are SUPER comfy -- we never sleep til 10 and we did! A bar downstairs is a nice touch in case you would like a drink, but kind of expensive.
Overall, if you've got to be in Lakeland, this is a nice place to stay (in comparison it's nicer than other hotels, but about the same rate!) « less

- Pros- great location for our visit to friends in Lakeland. Huge 42inch HD TV. Big comfy bed. A workstation space for your laptop. Small bar area with coffee maker and fridge. Room has large pull out couch. Room is slightly divided. Free wifi. Breakfast was continental however, you could order other breakfast items. They have a bar on first floor. You can order food anytime but you have to go to the guest kithcen on first floor to order. The staff was very nice. They even gave you a little tour on check in. Outside pool. Didn't try it out but there was a number of people there it was in the mid 90's outside. Business center. Hotel is close to Downtown area with shops and restaurants.
Cons- The carpet was kinda filthy. I wasn't pleased with that. They really need to shampoo the carpet in the room. The tile/grout on floor in bathroom looked like it needed to be scrubbed. I really mean scrubbed. The floor behind the toilet remained wet. The shower wasn't as bright and clean looking as I expected . It looked dingy.
The room is really a great space and great location. However, they need to do some spring cleaning. I would recommend to friends with this bit of info. « less
