Location. The all-suite Caribe Royale stands less than two miles from Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando, Fla. SeaWorld Orlando is located five miles away.

Hotel Features. This hotel's abundant flora and Florida's temperate climate create a tropical atmosphere at the Caribe Royale. Dining options include the Venetian Room which places emphasis on Northern Italian cuisine and an extensive collection of reserve wines. The Tropicale serves traditional American cuisine. The lower lobby-level Falls restaurant prepares tapas. Cafe Largo is a 24-hour "grab-and-go" market. Parrot Isle Lounge features wide-screen televisions and piano music, and Calypso's offers poolside service. A business center houses three computer stations. A total of 150,000 square feet of function space provides ample event facilities. Wireless Internet access is available for a fee in public areas. Waterfalls tumble over towering rocks above an outdoor pool that features a 75-foot waterslide. A two-story, staffed fitness center is located in the pool courtyard and includes cardiovascular and weight-training equipment, yoga balls and free weights. The hotel features a lighted tennis court and a basketball court. Guest parking is complimentary.

Guestrooms. This property offers 1,218 suites and 120 two-bedroom, two-bathroom villas. Standard suite bathrooms include shower/tub combinations. King suites feature jetted tubs. “Nothing flashy, but nice and clean”

We stayed for 6 nights at the hotel and although the weather was on the cool side, we enjoyed our stay. The suites are very nice, all newly decorated and clean. We had the deluxe king suite and there was plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. My one complaint would be the suite did not always appear to have been vacuumed very well and the hallways in the suites building appeared a bit worn and also not well vacuumed(there was Valentines confetti on the floor in front of our door for the entire week). One day the housekeeping staff did make us some towel sculptures- but not like Disney where you get them daily. Of course we got much more room than at Disney,but my son did comment that he missed the animals made from towels!
The pool is lovely and well maintained and they have a great kiddie pool and playground area for the under 5 set. My 3 year old could have stayed all day. They also have a really nice fitness center.
The one thing that stood out was the staff. They were all friendly and helpful. It was quite cool and we were at the pool one evening and the staff came right over and told us they would turn the water slide back on if we wanted it. We were the only ones out there but you really felt like they wanted your stay to be a good one. There was an attendant posted in he lobby of our building and they were helpful with planning activities. We did not use the shuttle to Disney but we saw it come by everyday.
We had room service several times and the food was excellent and really no more expensive than eating out and much more pleasant with a toddler in the family! It also was very quick, within 20 minutes. There is a self serve deli that has sandwiches, hot options, pizza, subs , salad bar, snacks and they do sell bottled beer, wine and mixed drinks. There are 2 full service restaurants which we did not try and a pool side bar.
As noted by others parking is free which is a consideration as others in the area charge up to 18.00 per day to park. Internet was 10.00 , would have liked to see it included but as it is also a convention hotel I can see why they charge for it as business travelers will pay for it.
One last thing, there was the sound of water running frequently in the room- I am not sure if it might have been the heating cooling system but if you are a light sleeper or have trouble with that kind of noise it could be a problem . Also, there is no individual control for the heat/air in the room. It was in the 30's at night while we were there and the air conditioning came on at night and actually made it quite cold, while other times the heat came on and it was too hot. I much prefer to be able to control my own heat and air.
We would definitely consider staying here again when we come to Orlando. « less

We just came back from a stay at the Caribe. Here is the good and the bad:

When I initially made my reservation I had asked for a room with a pool view, the woman said "no problem". I made sure she knew I wanted pool view, as I had cancellled an earlier reservation with another hotel because they said they couldn't guarantee me a view. Things were very clear as I hung up the phone with the Caribe. When we got to our room, we were given a room with a parking lot view. When I called the front desk they told me they didn't have any pool view rooms. They also told me they don't guarantee a view at reservation time,as I was told earlier. It wasn't until I told them I would check out that they found us a pool view room. I didn't want any problems, I wanted what I was told I would get. Got a nice room with a nice view... .

Rooms were OK. The TV's were great. Ac system very good. Coffee is horrible! Furniture, chairs and dressers were average. Pillows were bad. We had to call housekeeping one day because the room( after being cleaned )was not cleaned at all. It was obvious that they didn't vacuum, and we were only give two towels for a family of 4 plus other minor issues. One day I had to go and look for toilet paper. After we complained they gave us good service.

The pool area was great but new towels are needed. The kids had great fun on the slide and under the water fall. It's a very pretty area.

We ate at the Tropicale restaurant. When the waiter approached us, I asked him about wines, he told me to wait until after I ordered the food. Yes, can you believe that one? I never did get wine...my husband got a beer. The waiter never asked me again...We thought the whole thing was sort of obnoxious and rude. My kids got the hot dogs and their rolls fell a apart, so they didn't eat them. I did mention it to the hostess and they gave me a free dessert, not impressed. We did not go back. The 24 hour cafe was OK. The two staff members there were lovely to deal with.

Cafe Java was OK, coffee average. Staff friendly..

Basically, all the employees were very friendly.

Overall the stay was satisfactory. But, we will not go back again. « less

We stayed in the Villas Satruday through Wednesday of Presidents week 2010. The towers have 5 stories and outside access. Take the stairs or the elevator. The villas had 2-bedrooms; a very big master w/jacuzzi and walk-in shower, and a decent sized 2nd br with adjacent bathroom. Each bedroom has a nice size hd flat screen. Great room has a good-sized tiled kitchen with modern appliances (fridge w ice maker, smooth top range and oven, dishwasher, dishes, glasses, pots and pans, coffed maker with complementary coffee which was replaced each day), a dining room table/chairs, and a living room area with a couple of chairs, a sofa-bed, and large hd lcd tv with dvd player. There is a seperate laundry room with shelves and a compact washer-dryer. Finally there is a screeened lanai overlooking the private pool and hot-tub for the use of guests in the 80 or so villas in the rear of the property. (There is also a large, free-form pool for the entire hotel with a pool bar etc). Overall the villa/suite was very clean and updated, and felt very upscale.

We had a great time and the hotel staff were very helpful. It was not very busy, and if the rooms were full and the convention center busy I imagine common areas could get crowded, but this is a large facility that looks like it can hanlde alot of people. It's very convenient to the Disney parks, actually on the same road as Epcot, about 2 miles away. Drive and pay $14/day to park at Disney, or plan your visits carefully and take the free shuttle right from the hotel which left for the parks at 8:00 AM sharp, plus a couple more times during the day, and returned to the hotel mid day and then late afternoon and a few times in the evening. It's less hassle than driving (drive, park, catch parking lot shuttle) but less convenient ( miss shuttle, wait a long time for the next one, etc) . It worked out great for us as we were in town for a convention and our teenage kids were able to get to and from the parks without us.

Pizzas at the deli were good, breakfast buffet was too, but typically-hotel expensive. If you stay in the villas you can shop at nearby Publix or Walmart and have breakfasts and snacks in the room. You could even cook full meals in the large kitchen a couple of nights to save $$

Overall this is a great find and the best experience I've ever had when choosing not to stay at Disney properties. Staying on Disney property is expensive, and meals are outrageous, so you have to weigh the price vs value. If you decide to save some money and trade off slightly less convenience, this is the place for you. « less

Take 417 South (Central Florida Greenway) to exit #6. Follow to World Center Drive (do NOT turn right onto International Drive). After the light, we are located on the right side. Tolls will total $2.00

1-4 Westbound (From Daytona Beach, Downtown Orlando, Colonial Drive)
Take exit #68 and turn left onto S.R. 535 (Apopka/Vineland Road). Go to the 3rd light and turn left onto World Center Drive. The Caribe Royale is the 2nd hotel on the left hand side.

I-4 Eastbound (Coming from Tampa, Clearwater)
Take exit #67. Follow the signs towards International Drive on the right. Pass two traffic lights. We are the 2nd hotel on the left after the second traffic light, which is the intersection of 535 and World Center Drive.

From I-75 (Coming from Tampa)
