Location. Just minutes away from Walt Disney World, The Sheraton Vistana Resort in Orlando, Fla., is surrounded by Central Florida's most popular attractions, yet provides a quiet refuge from the crowds. The resort is less than three miles from Walt Disney World Resort, and five miles from SeaWorld Orlando. Complimentary scheduled transportation to all four Disney theme parks is available, as well as transportation to Universal Studios and SeaWorld for a fee. The Orlando International Airport is 16 miles from the resort.
Features. The Sheraton Vistana Resort features a lush tropical setting, and 135 acres of lakes, fountains and waterfalls that set it apart from other Orlando resorts. Here, guests have several dining options. Zimmie's serves American fare, ice cream and nightly happy hours at the adjacent sports bar. Cascades Bar and Grill offers pub food and features karaoke and live music on select evenings. The Market Place provides Starbucks coffee, fresh-baked goods, and hot and cold lunch items, including rotisserie chicken and deli sandwiches. Pizza Hut serves lunch and dinner. The Sheraton Vistana Resort features a business center and offers a wide array of amenities, including 24-hour front desk, concierge, car rental and tour services. The resort hosts a fitness facility, tennis courts, a game room, a lounge and seven temperature-controlled pools.

Guestrooms. This resort offers one-and two-bedroom villas. Villas include separate living, dining and sleeping areas. One-bedroom villas offer fully equipped kitchenettes, and two-bedroom villas feature full kitchens.

Expert Tip. After booking, guests can contact the property so that the staff can stock the kitchen prior with goods from the Market Place. This service is available for the cost of food plus a $10 fee.

I must say I was a bit hesitant after reading the mixed reviews from trip advisor. We called ahead and asked to be put in a refurbished villa. We also asked to have a villa next to our friends. We got everything we asked for. The check- in was not a problem at all. Everyone was very friendly. I was prepared for the time share speech, but they weren't pushy. We got put in the Lakes area. It was a wonderful, spacious villa that was very clean and well furnished. I took the phone off the hook in the villa to avoid any calls soliciting time shares. This was a great resort for us because we have teenagers. There was a basketball court and swimming pool close to the villa to keep them happy when the adults were resting. We have been to Disney many times and this was the first time we've stayed outside the parks. It was perfect. I would do it again. You are only minutes away from the parks. (just make sure you are waiting in line before the parks open) There is a Walmart nearby. The Vistana is one of Disney's best off-Disney properties. We cooked breakfast in the room and packed sandwiches/chips and water in a backpack. Disney didn't seem to mind when they checked our bags. We only ate out once a day. It was very expensive to eat at the parks. We ate at Prime Time Cafe one day for lunch. We ate at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney one night for dinner. It was an Irish Pub. The portions were very small and it was very expensive for a family of four to eat there. We ate at a good Mexican food restaurant called Garibaldi's in Kissimmee. They had the best queso. They had a shrimp and cheese dish that was awesome. A great Disney tip: I bought the Unofficial Guide to Disney and followed the tour plans. It worked perfectly and we didn't have to wait in any long lines. Get a fast pass for the popular rides and use them later. A Disney secret is that the return window expiration time is ignored as a matter of policy. In other words, a FASTPASS is good from the beginning of the return window until closing. I would definitely stay at the Vistana again. This was a very nice resort for the price. « less
