- On the plus side: The staff were friendly and very helpful. The Victorian mansion I stayed in is beautiful on the outside and inside. The turret room was very large with a large bathroom as well. Down side: It is July, and July is hot. The turret room has no insulation underneath the turret itself and the bed is directly under the turret. The A/C was not turned on until shortly before our check-in time, so it was already hot and the temperature did not reach a comfortable level until sometime after midnight. We will return again, just not until autumn or winter, and only during those seasons! « less

- My husband and I stayed there for one night during our honeymoon. The Dr. Phillips mansion was lovely. We stayed in the Yellow Room which had very, beautiful, antique furniture and decor. It felt like stepping back in time. The gardens outside were very pretty, and well kept. They made quite the oasis in the middle of the city.
I could hear the traffic on the freeway nearby, which usually makes it hard for me to sleep, since I am used to the serene quiet of the countryside. But overall I slept nicely there.
The breakfast was delicious. The service was very good. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
It was definitely a very nice experience staying at this bed and breakfast. « less

- The Courtyard at Lake Lucerne is 3 historic properties next to each other--2 beautifully restored ornate inns flanking a classic Art Deco apartment building where most guests stay. Weddings are held at both inns throughout the weekend, so guests in the Art Deco building (the Welborn) are "treated" to music from both sides. Happily, the weddings end promptly at 10 pm. Another thing to know beforehand: there is no view of Lake Lucerne, as a freeway offramp separates the lake from the inns. Aside from that, it's a convenient location in downtown Orlando. Thumbs up for the breakfast that comes with the room--nice presentation and good variety. Although most rooms in the Welborn are suites with kitchenettes, ours did not have one, but management supplied an ice chest. « less

- This was our first experience at a B&B, and being a little tight on funds we decided to make The Courtyard our destination. We stayed in the Yellow Room in the Dr. Phillips House. It was my birthday weekend. We checked in a little before 3 and made our way to the room. The house was very elegantly decorated with antiques everywhere. When I opened the door to our room, it was decorated with Happy Birthday balloons, banners and streamers. Turns out, my fiancee called the manager and was able to come by the day before our stay to decorate our room and have a cake waiting for me. Our room had a door that opened directly to the large balcony that over looked the grounds. The next morning we enjoyed the variety of breakfast foods they had to offer, from french toast, bagels, cereals and so on. Before we knew it, it was time to check out. It was a blast. The staff was very nice and accomodating. Don't bother staying at the Wellborn, spend a little extra and stay in the Dr. Phillips house, it's worth it!!! « less
