- stayed at this hotel for two weeks in august, ideal place. Our first time in orlando and the staff were fantastic help with any questions we asked them, front desk staff were really friendly, our room was fab beds were really comfy, a/c was great corridor's a little worn but then you dont sleep in those do you. Breakfast was enough with the heat you dont really want cooked breakfast,coffee in the lobby was good to and free, transport to the parks the hotel provided was great, also the taxi man that works from there Sammy is fantastic really friendly and helpful, also was his wife who took us to the airport.Laundry was great only should have a machine to change money into quarters i kept running out of them and had to hassle the front desk staff sorry ha ha. Also the maids were doing a great job our room was cleaned every day with clean towels thanks working so hard in the heat you got there, only problem i had was kept getting lost in the corridor's ha ha thats me though no sense of direction, always a member of staff to lead me in the right way thanks. supermarket 2 seconds away great they sold strongbow mmmmmmmm and also a bottle of robinsons blackcurrent. chicken place outside also good they do fab ice creams (blizzards), for food try Chillis its fab also ponderosa and tgi fridays.

- We really enjoyed our stay at the Metropolitan Express check in was quick we were traveling with friends so wanted rooms close together no problem. Given a ground floor room at the front but on checking the safes they did not work so went back to reception they moved us both upstairs to a pool view room.The rooms was big and clean working safe quiet air con good size bathroom they were cleaned daily and fresh towels left. The pool was a good size and had sunbeds and umbrellas the breakfast was ok toast, bagels,cereals,muffins,pastries,coffee and juices set you up for the day. The free tea and coffee in the lobby was great after a long day we used this a lot the location is excellent bus stop outside to get to Universal, Disney and Sea World . Supermarket 5 Min's a way lots of restaurants with in walking distant try Chilli's great food. For a so called budget hotel it done us very well we would look to stay here again. « less

- I almost cancelled my reservation after reading some bad reviews on various sites, glad I did'nt. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, let us check in early (1230) at no charge. Location was fantastic, right on International drive, saved me $20.00 in parking by being able to walk to Wet & Wild. Lobby was clean, kids loved big screen TV, I loved the coffee.
Room was exactly what I would expect from a value hotel, actually larger than I thought it would be. Room was clean, AC cold, fridge/micro worked fine.
To those who wrote bad reviews; GET OVER IT, this hotel was exactly as advertised, want to stay at a nicer place, spend more money! As for me, I would gladly stay at this hotel again. « less Read management response to this review.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the lobby was very nice and clean, with hot coffee, free wi-fi and a big screen TV. The staff was very friendly and courteous throughout our stay. There is a $3.10/night resort fee charged on top of the room rate, but I was aware of this and expected it.
The hotel is 2 floors, with no elevator, so if you are on the 2nd floor like we were you'll have to haul your luggage up the stairs. The stair wells are not air conditioned, and looked a little run down. The carpets in the stair wells were very grungy looking and worn.
In the hall ways, the carpets were better, but still looked a little grungy and there were bleach stains here and there.
The room it's self was nice. Everything was clean and tidy, no foul smells. The bathroom was also very clean, although the tank lid for the toilet was for a different shaped tank and did not fit right. And the exhaust fan was non functional. Not a big deal. There was a microwave and refrigerator in room, as well as an iron and hair dryer. No coffee pot, but there was hot coffee available in the lobby at all hours.
The only issues I had with the room were the cracked window, and the non-functional room safe. But these weren't a big enough nuisance for me to request a room change. The carpet in the room was fairly clean, although there was a burn mark by the door from the iron.
The beds were standard budget hotel issue, not uncomfortable. On of the duvet covers was worn and looked a little moth eaten but for us those always end up in the corner anyway.
Breakfast was 6:30 to 9:30. It consisted of bread or toast (toast it your self), bagels, a selection of pastries, and cereal. There was also coffee and juices. The room where the food was is small and can be very crowded with people waiting to use the 2 toasters. Breakfast seating is outside at the Tiki Bar area, so it was hot and muggy of course. We took our breakfast back to the room. Would like to have seen a better selection, at least some waffles for something.
We did not visit the pool, but I did observe that it was clean and seemed to be well maintained. Our room looked down on the pool area. Pool Hours were 10am - 10pm, and were enforced fairly well. The Tiki bar is open later, but we never had an issue with late night noise from either.
The hotel is in a great location, literally almost right across the street from Wet N Wild, and within reasonable walking distance to shops and restaurants. It is on I-drive though, so traffic can be very heavy at times.
My only real gripe with the hotel was pillows. On our first night, we checked in around 9:30 pm. I went down around 11pm to ask for 4 extra pillows (4 adults in the room). Was told they didn't have any at the desk at the moment, but would send some to the room. By 2am and after several calls to the desk we still didn't have any extra pillow and gave up for the night. The next day when we returned from Wet N Wild, I went downstairs again to ask for pillows and explained the events of last night. The desk clerk apologized and said he would have some sent up right away. We did finally get the extra pillows, about 3 hours after I requested them again.
Overall, the Metropolitan Express was a decent place for the price. I've stayed in better, albeit for slightly more per night, and have definitely stayed in worse. I would stay here again. « less
