- I was expecting the Bates Motel after reading some of the reviews, but I was happy for the price I paid on Priceline,
I was given a refurbished room on the 7th floor (724) with a view of the pool. 37" flat screen with limited channels and no HD. The toilet in my assigned room did not work properly and I was afraid it would over flow. I was grateful it didn't. New carpet and comfy mattress and bedding. The free wifi in the room was a bonus.
The lobby and the common area were very attractive and well maintained. The elevators require an overhaul - all of them.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would most likely return, but I would hope the toilet issues get worked out. « less

- The hotel was booked for the first night with my new wife. The honeymoon package was booked directly with the hotel.Upon arrival and paying for self park,I waited at the reception desk which was cluttered with papers. Once in room, curtain and rail had fallen from ceiling, welcome package was not in room and since I booked honeymoon, you would think that there would be more than one robe? Once the engineer arrived and without warning let himself in the room, I approached manager.
To his (Mark) credit, he did do a good job at making the situation better - a different room and added roses and champagne.
In the morning, the first day of married life and a cooked breakfast arrived on time to the room. Bagel was wrong and the grapefruit juice had fermented, but other wise great!
On checkout, receptionist who repeatly claimed 'but I wasn't here yesterday!' as defence of her inability asked me if the rate I had agreed (on their website) included tax. Please...... if you dont know, please check so that I can leave! They said they would email me my final bill. They didnt, but toook more than I had agreed anyway!
Its a nice place and after their refurb, will be really nice. They just need to refurb their staff training! « less

- I read a lot of bad feedback about this hotel after I had booked so I was a little nervous. The hotel was not as bad as other reviews noted. Rooms were renovated nicely, there were no odors and I had no trouble parking. It was as nice as a standard Marriott property would be, no more no less. I was pleased and would recommend it and stay there again. « less

- We got a priceline deal and were given the Sonesta. The reviews scared us, and we were expecting the worst...ready to move to another hotel immediately, if needed, after inspecting our room. Amazingly enough though, our experience was wonderful. Employees were friendly and welcoming. Our vehicle is "oversized" so we couldn't park in the parking garage anyway, but there was free parking on the road in front of the hotel (we were there midweek though). Our room had been one of the newly renovated rooms. I found out from an employee that the carpeting in the halls had just been replaced a couple weeks previous to our visit. Even though we saw a few signs about renovations, it seems they are almost complete and didn't interrupt our stay. It seems that the hotel management has been working hard to get the Sonesta up to its appropriate standards and it's almost there. « less

- this has to be the most disgusting hotel i have ever stayed in. the smell in the room and in the hallways are the worse. The carpet was dirty and what type of shower doesn t have a place to put your soap. There is hardly any lighting and the guests are loud and rude. You can hear the trains going by and the hotel looks like an office building that was renovated. I had food from a restaurant that i wanted to heat up and i called guest services to find a microwave and was told I had to pay 15 to rent one.motels have microwaves. I hope to god nobody ever stays here. PLEASE PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will do better at the econo lodge or something. This hotel is trying to portray 5 STAR SERVICE and they are no where near it. the only good thing is the valet service that you have to pay 9 dollars a day for. this place is the worse ever..... Make a different choice trust me. « less

First of all, let me thank you for commenting on our property. We take the problems that our guests encounter very seriously. I’d like to address each individually.
• Smell in the room and the hallway – our hotel is actually in the process of a massive remodeling process that includes replacing all hallway carpeting. We acknowledge the fact that our previous carpeting was sub-par.
• In addition to replacing the carpeting in our hallways, we have also replaced the lights, creating a much more inviting atmosphere.
• The train is an on-going issue that we have; we are looking into installing some soundproof glass into our guestrooms sometime in the near future.
• As far as the microwave goes, we apologize that an alternative was not offered.
Again, let me just apologize for your experience. If you have any additional questions or comments, feel free to contact me directly.
