- We frequently travel to Florida as my mom's large family lives there. This particular trip was for a cousin's wedding. My husband and I wanted to stay someplace with more charm and amenities other than the large hotel nearest to the wedding reception. I booked the Chesterfield based on the stellar reviews. It did not disappoint us and we were impressed from the moment we first arrived! The patio and lobby are beautiful. Many times in the evening there were cookies available. The pool has sun and shade areas and is surrounded by lush hedges and flowers. The loungers are so comfortable! Water, lemonade, and fruit were always available. We had a small queen room, but the space was adequate for our needs. The room was nice and the bathroom clean. The beds were turned down for us each evening. The beach was a short walk away, and when we asked how to get there, the front desk graciously offered us beach towels to take with us. Worth Avenue is also just down the street. It's a beautiful area and we loved being walking to distance to everything. We had breakfast al fresco at Victor's cafe which is just off Worth Avenue. It was pretty reasonably priced. We stopped in the Leopard Lounge for a drink one evening, and we were the only ones there. The piano player was great though. The drinks are pricey. It was $8.00 for a beer. I understand that the area demands that price, but if they were $2.00 less, we would have bought more! Friday night we peeked in the Lounge and it was full with people dancing and drinking. CityPlace is just a short drive over the intercoastal if you are looking for that sort of thing. The wireless access didn't work in our room. Our computers could pick up the signal, but it wasn't strong enough for us to connect to. In summary, we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would not hesitate to go back there. « less

- This place was a cool little boutique property. We really enjoyed our beautiful room. The pool area was charming, hot tub was luke warm though. The grounds were gorgeous. Parking was a challenge, by no fault of the hotel. The bellstaff were excellent and very friendly. The manager was kind enough to let us use a special parking space for our rented scooter after we parked our car. We presented this hotel with a challenge which they were happy to take care of. We arrived at the end of our East Coast surf trip with our two longboard surfboards which were not allowed in our guest room. The manager arranged for locked storage in an unused guest room for our boards. (Over and above on his part, great solution). Funny that my favorite thing were the pool towels, the best! Restaraunt staff could have been a little more attentive, restaurant service was a bit less than great. The front desk was extremely helpful and kind. This area of Palm Beach was gorgeous and our weekend was amazing! « less

- So, we walk in the door with our three well-maintained dogs (not yappy promise), and was greated to the nicest valet. Upon approaching the front door, the outside patio was set up with gorgeous fresh flowers with a soothing fountain. The doors automatically opened (sometimes RARE in some hotels), and were greated by staff members with a glass of sherry and doggie snacks for our dogs. COME ON! Are you kidding me? AWESOME!
We go to our room and I stood back! Old elegance meets updated attire. The pictures do not lie here, the rooms look wonderful and the beds just swallow you up in comfort. We even had two bathrooms to choose from and the bathroom extras included bath salts to soak luxuriously in the tub after a long travel day with your glass of Sherry..OH YEAH!!
The pool is another amazing piece. Totally hidden courtyard surrounded by beautiful trees and bushes which blocks the outside viewers and curbs the wind. And the architecture was incredible!
We spent most of our meals here as the prices were GREAT. Lunch cost us 11.95 and that included an entree, desert, and coffee/iced tea. WOW!
Our first day here we induldged in the Afternoon Tea. If you have never had it before, definitely the place to try it. The homemade hot scones with whipped butter and preserves...melt in your mouth! 20.00/per person and includes tea, sandwhiches, scones, and sweets...we were stuffed!
And every evening they have the best entertainment with singers, great drink specials (Thursday night is Ladies NIght), the bar staff truly made us feel welcome, at home, comfortable and were extremely willing to help answer any questions about the area.
STAFF!! Boy oh Boy, the Staff! I felt like I was with family and not just a number to fill the hotel number requirements for the evening. From the moment we have entered this hotel we have felt welcome and that every question, requirement or concern is important and was dealt with immediately. Concerns?? Nothing!!!! Requirement? What else does one need.
I recommend this place a zillion times over. The person(s) who gave this place bad reviews were 'unhappy' individuals who didn't take in the entire experience. Come, visit, listen, taste and enjoy...I double dog dare ya! HA! « less

- My partner and I just returned from a weekend stay at The Chesterfield. In one word, AMAZING! This is a 5 star property, and they really go the extra mile! We arrived on Friday night after work (we live in Miami.) We went that evening to Ta-boo for dinner, a Palm Beach institution. While the service was great, the food was just alright, in my opinion. Now the locals and the characters that dine there, are a completely different story!! We took advantage of the hotel's great summer rates and booked an executive suite. It was very nice and spacious, and came with two full bathrooms. The room is decorated very "English Country." The odd thing about this hotel is that it is so very European, yet in the heart of Palm Beach. It is odd, but in a very good way! The hotel is just lovely! The staff is very kind and welcoming. I would like to give extra thanks to Tara who helped us with the dinner reservations and Matt who was very helpful as well. The hotel bakes fresh chocolate chip cookies all day long, and they leave them in the lobby for whenever you are hungry..:-) I honestly would say that given the choice between the impersonal service of the Ritz, Breakers or the Chesterfield, I would strongly urge the Chesterfield. I usually would say the opossite, as I try to stay at the Ritz whenever possible. Again, if you are looking for a true experience at a lovely older hotel, full of character and charm, this is the way to go! We live in Miami, and are looking forward to another weekend getaway, very soon! « less

- My wife and I have stayed numerous times at the Chesterfield and absolutely love it. The service is truly exceptional- from the valet to the front desk to the restaurant and bar, everyone has always been wonderful. The hotel is nicely situated and a great, great spot if you need a hotel in the Palm Beach area. Beautiful, quiet pool area too has also enhanced our stay there. The restaurant lounge area is a hoot on Friday and Saturday nights- the place to be.... « less
