- We stayed here the middle of June for one week. I booked two 1 bedroom rooms as the 2 bedrooms were not available directly through the hotel # and got an unbelievable rate. I requested rooms close to each other but at check-in was told they did not have rooms near eachother. (no big deal) We, (me, husband and daughter 6yrs) were on the 3rd floor. Wow is all I can say about the room! Everything you need for your stay was there, dish detergent, towels, paper goods, garbage bags, fully equiped kitchen, huge bedroom, dining area large enough to fit 6-8 people, 2 bathrooms and living area. We had a corner room so we had a wrap around porch that looked over the pool. Pool was small but we spent our days at the beach. The surrounding area not much to look at, next door were a couple of old overgrown tennis courts. The 'town area' was defineatly hit by the economy. The hotel is a short walk to the beach, I say about 5-10min depending on which area you want to sit at.
Lots of places to eat, Las Olas Blvd. a short drive away, restaurants on the intercoastal and on A1A. Oh and the outlets!
Our one complaint was our own fault. We signed up for the 'timeshare' tour at the Royal Vista. We went the second to last night. Never been to one before and probably our last! Does anyone make a $60,000 purchase in 60 minutes of converation? Well I guess so but not us! They were very rude when we finally said after 2 hrs we need to go! The price went from $60,000 to a mere $15,000! Not worth the gift card they gave you at the end, don't do unless you really want and are ready to purchase a unit.
Would stay again for sure! « less

- We spent a girls week away and had a wonderful time. The thing that sets the Wyndham apart from others is the people who work there. Norman, Susan and Patricia...so many others. They go the extra mile and "customer service" is number one.
Our room was really nice and we had a large unit with two baths, wrap around balcony and a fire works-4th of July :)- display that I am sure we will never see the likes of again.
The room, the area everything was perfect.I have no idea what anyone could complain about, seriously- stop looking, stay here. You are not directly on the beach but it is a matter of crossing the street. I would definitely stay here again. Thanks to all the great people who work there and make this a number one choice. Now I know why. « less

- I booked this hotel through RCI as our week after Disney. It was really nice to relax and enjoy the beach at this hotel. It is right across the street from the beach, and the sister hotel is right on the beach. Our room was very clean with everything we needed for the week. We used the pool at the hotel a couple of times, but we mainly used the pool across the street by the beach. I got such a great deal on the room, that I honestly didn't mind walking to the other pool and beach area. Pompano Beach area is beautiful and I would love to go back again. It is easy to get around and plenty to do in this area. « less

- We stayed at the Santa Barbara at the end of June 2010, and it was a perfect experience, thanks to Susan at the front desk. In my ignorance I booked the wrong room (for a party our size), and Susan graciously juggled things so that we could stay in the proper size room. She acted as if my idiocy was no big deal, and I appreciate that. The rooms were large, immaculate and tastefully decorated. We had a corner suite with a wraparound balcony and views of the ocean (the hotel is across the street from the ocean) and the intracoastal waterway. We made use of the Royal Vista across the street and spent quality time at the cute tiki bar, right on the beach. The Santa Barbara has cookouts by the pool during the day, and at night, the pool and spa have a colored light show. There are a few stores and eateries one block north, and tons of shops and restaurants are located a couple miles south at Lauderdale By The Sea. All in all a fabulous experience, and we will stay there again next year. « less
