- My wife and I stayed at this hotel Friday, August 27, 2010 to Sunday, August 29, 2010, while in town to catch two Red Sox / Tampa Bay Rays games. Hotel was sold out both nights but yet didn't seem too busy. Got reasonable rate of $117 per night via AAA.
The lobby is large and there are numerous, very comfortable places to sit and relax (My wife and I are enjoying sitting in the lobby as I write this). There is a Starbucks in the hotel too.
The room was very nice. While the bathroom isn't large, it is nicely appointed. There is a huge flat screen TV in the room and the king size bed is quite comfortable. The TV choices are more than sufficient (unlike at Disney hotels where it is very limited (ABC, ESPN and little else)). We slept quite well last night (the Red Sox winning probably helped too).
As sliver Hilton Honors members, we were able to use the private lounge on the top floor which had spectacular views on three sides. There were free drinks, fruit, snacks, yogurt, etc. Didn't make the evening expanded offerings due to being at the games or the continental breakfast due to our taking advantage of the breakfast buffet in the hotel restaurant.
The pool was good size and the pool area quite large. There were plenty of tables, chairs and lounge chairs. We used the fitness room which had three treadmills, two cross trainers, free weights and a good sized area to stretch and exercise.
The hotel has free shuttle service to the Rays games which worked very well. We decided to go early so that we could watch batting practice and the shuttle was waiting ready to take us even though we were early (the field is only a mile or so away). After the game, the hotel had several shuttles waiting to return us and the wait getting back was minimal.
We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the very nice restaurant (normally $15.50 each but we asked if they could include it and they nicely said yes). Not only were there ample items on the buffet but included in the price was made to order eggs, french toast, pancakes, etc.
The front desk staff was accommodating. We purchased our tickets for the Saturday evening game Saturday morning and needed to print out tickets. We went to the business center but there was a fee to use the computers. We went to the front desk with our zip drive and asked if they could print the tickets for us and they said they would be happy too.
We were very pleased with this hotel and will stay here again (yes, when the Red Sox are back in town). Yes, it is an older hotel but it is kept up very well. « less

- Last minute choice to see Dali Museum. After a few calls decided on this mainly on price and "Hilton" Quality. Check in very slow but room very good with fantastic views over the bay.
Due to lateness of the hour decided to eat in the hotel's Orange restaurant. A mistake. Good service but food poor and sent back. Waiter took the food off the check and gave me a complimentary glass of wine so marks there but the hotel given over to conference so not much care nor time for individuals. Hotel in a bit of a time warp decor wise, Who thinks that orange and brown are good colours to dine with? « less

- My, I have stayed at many Hiltons with my husband, who is a business traveler. I couldn't believe this hotel was actually a Hilton property. The hotel has been renovated at some point, and the decor is screaming 1990's. Not only does the lobby need a facelift but the rooms could use a little TLC. One bed was broken, the other hard as a rock. Small, flat screen TV, as well as the smallest bathroom which was in dire need of replacement. This was a "green hotel" which means they cut back on water and laundry. OK> but at least give me more than one towel and supply me with a hair dryer!
The hotel has a Starbucks inside.. NICE! However they automatically assumed I had tipped them my 5 dollar change...not cool. The hotel has a full service salon inside at which I took the opportunity one morning to go down with a little time to kill...big mistake! Had to wait on the ONE person that available (they call her in to work when a customer shows up) for a pedicure for an hour, then hear about how an 18 percent tip was not enough....again!
Those things aside, this hotel is really nice if you are a business traveler. They have an awesome 13th floor for Hilton members ONLY and they do take care of you. If you don't mind the 3 elevators to accomodate this massive hotel, it is worth your trip up there for that alone. « less

- Me and my husband went to the Hilton in St. Petersburg for out honeymoon, and we couldn't have asked for anything better. The rooms were super clean and spacious, the hotel is convenient to everything in St. Pete with easy access to Tampa and the surrounding areas. The staff was absolutely wonderful! They welcomed us every time we came in the door and helped us with any questions we may have had about how to get somewhere. « less

- My wife and I recently spent two nights in St. Petersburg as we came to attend the Detroit Tiger vs. Tampa Bay Rays baseball games.
The reviews were decidely all over the place so I had some concerns, but because the location was so good we decided to stay there.
We could not have been more satisfied. The rate was reasonable and included a full buffet breakfast for both days. The buffet was very good.
The pool and pool are were very nice. The location was very convenient.
The hotel had a free shuttle which took us back and forth to the baseball stadium.
The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and the room was very nice.
We initially had trouble accessing our free internet in our room but figured it out after we called for guest services. They sent someone to fix it but we had figured out how to log on by the time the person got there. Even though it was not their fault, we later found a letter of apology and a free box of cookies because of the internet situation. That was a thoughtful touch.
We would definitely stay there again. « less
