- What a great hotel. First, the employees could not have been more pleasant or helpful. Everyone from the manager to the maids really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.
We stayed in the building by the beach -- each room has a really nice view. It was so convienent to just walk out to the ocean.
And, the resort is wonderful. The ocean is huge and the breezes make the temperatures comfortable, even in August. We rented bikes, rented a boat at the marina for the day and jet skis. The kids watched a movie by the pool and ate Sum-mores (sp?). We really could have stayed another week and not been able to do all the activities the resort offers. « less

- This was our first trip away since my son, Ryan, age 23, a fire fighter/EMT was killed in an accident on his way to work. Because of the legal situation, work, and family commitments these last 8 months have been the most painfully difficult of my life. My husband and I really needed some time away. From the moment we set foot on the property we were treated with the utmost respect, courtesy, and kindness. It started on a busy Saturday at the lobby door. As we had come straight to the hotel after a morning of horseback riding in Okeechobee, I was hot and sweaty. Even though I'm sure I looked very out of place, the doorman opened the door for me, and immediately escorted me into the gorgeous lobby area and over to the refreshing and delicious coolers of chilled, fruit flavored waters. At the front desk, we were greeted, and told that our room was almost ready (we had arrived around 2:00 - check-in is normally at 4:00). The young man at the desk told us that if we would like we could go on over to the Sandpiper building where we were staying and enjoy the pool area and beach. He would send the door keys over to us just as soon as the room was ready. We had only just arrived when he called to say the keys were on their way. In just a few minutes, Kim arrived with them. She insisted on helping carry luggage and escorting us to our room to make certain that the keys worked properly. I couldn't believe my eyes when she opened the door! I was expecting your typical ocean front king suite. This was anything but typical!! This was a lovely one bedroom, two bath ocean front apartment with a wrap around balcony!! You could see the ocean from the kitchen, living room, and bedroom! When Kim asked us if we were celebrating anything special, I told her, "Life." and then shared briefly about Ry's accident. She was so genuinely compassionate. A little while later, she sent up a beautiful plate of the most delicious chocolate covered strawberries I've ever had! Compliments of the hotel. And when room service says, if its late its free, they aren't kidding! Our breakfast the next morning couldn't have been more than 3 minutes over the 6:00 to 6:15 time we had requested it. We weren't upset at all, but the young man who delivered it said that's their policy and they really follow through with it! So we had a delicious breakfast, again on the house. I could go on and on about the beautiful view and the wonderful, over the top staff! The entire weekend was the most relaxed, peaceful time we've had since our devastating loss. I know this is just one step in the healing process, but I am so very thankful we chose the Hutchinson Island Marriott!! I look forward to going back again as often as possible! « less

- We stayed here for 4 nights, had the oceanfront suite in the Sandpiper building (northeast side of building). The views were magnificent and the beach was perfect. Was so relaxing to wake up and have coffee on the wraparound balcony, watching the fishing boats go out and seeing the fish jump. Our suite was on the north side of the building and so did not have any noise from the pool/bar area. we felt very secluded. Staff was courteous and attentive. The location of the resort is great, just five minutes to nice takeout restaurants. convenient to have kitchenette in suite, great for breakfast and snacks. Great brick oven pizza place close, Carmelos. Our 12 year old was happy to build sand castles and body surf, our 17 year old was content to read and sun herself on the beach. Bring more sunscreen than you think you need as the FL sun is intense. « less

- I'm not sure what these people were complaining about but I'm am making my first review on this site to describe our experience. We had an oceanfront deluxe room at the Sandpipier building and we had a beautiful oceanfront view every day with a large balcony. So beautiful to wake up with the sunrise over the water. The pool was just right for our kids (11 and 8). The staff at the Tiki Bar, the beach, the front desk and the entire hotel was over the top and beyond friendly and accomodating. They do charge for beach chair and umbrella rental so bring your own if you don't want to pay this. As with other hotels, there is a parking charge and a weekly charge for wi-fi if you want it for your room. Excellent stay and can't say enough great things about it. We are going home extremely relaxed. « less

- Saw the review with the not so good beach rating. Things have changed. They totally redid the beach. They have taken sand from the ocean and re shifted it to the beach. I've been going there for 30 yrs and the beach now is bigger than I have ever seen. I couldn't believe it when I saw it! So different from 1 or 2 years ago. Stuart is the best!! Especially Hutchinson Island! « less
