- My business associates and colleagues stayed on the 6th floor of this hotel for a meeting and there was noticeable water damage to the walls and ceiling. Noticeable enough that when I touched the areas the plaster flaked and rained down on me. I was changed to 2 other rooms on the 6th floor and all of them had the same noticeable damage on the walls or ceiling. Also as an added bonus I found a half a box of condoms in one of the drawers when I went to place some of my clothes in it! Carpeting felt very rough and worn like it was dirty so I got to wondering what else they hadn't cleaned if they hadn't done the simplest chore of checking the drawers for left items...like condoms!
The management was very apologetic about the whole thing and had no problems with moving me to different rooms but were also pretending to be "stunned" that I had found water damage. I finally got a bar tender to come clean with me that the air conditioners in the place were horrible and old, drain lines always freezing up and leaking into the walls and the maintenance team were always patching leak damage everywhere.
Comping a free night's stay, lowering my nightly rate, or upgrading me to a suite on another level were never discussed. One of the front desk guys that helped me actually said, "Well, we're really booked today so I'm not sure where we can put you." Even though earlier in the day when I asked another lady about the problem she said they would have no problem moving me to another room since they had PLENTY of other rooms for me to try.
The only bright spot about the trip was the 6th floor lounge/business club which was always stocked with free food and drinks to anyone staying on that level. The guy that ran that little area of the hotel should be managing the whole place because he was excellent and absolutely made my visit at least bearable. « less

- I was here for three nights for a conference. @ check-in, I was greeted by a friendly staff member, who explained the layout and provided me with free breaksfast buffet tickets during my stay. I had a river-side king room with a balcony...very spacious and nicely laid out. The workspace was great, lots of it and I wasn't knocking stuff over to work in the evenings. I thought it was a little strange that the CAT cable for the wired internet didn't really reach beyond the TV (nice flat screen) so was very glad that the wireless internet was working and more than adequate for my needs.
I met my housekeeper after my first night and she was incredibly friendly and kind. Quickly got my room back in order and asked if she could do anything else for me. :)
I was on the 2nd floor I did have a view of the river, however, I could also see a lot of a lower level room. Would have been a nice spot for some tropical flora to kind of camaflouge the ugly white roof, but the river view was very relaxing.
The one thing that I didn't expect to see in my room was the rusted spots in the bathroom (on the vent, on the railing in the shower). It didn't take much away from the room, but you can't help but notice it.
The free shuttle was excellent....we were given an excellent referral to a local Italian eatery called Bella's that's within the shuttle's 3 mile radius. Quick and easy shuttle, with a nice driver.
I thought the sundries shop was pretty pricey....more than $5.00 for a smaller bag of chips, a small candy bar and a smaller bottle of juice.
I had an excellent stay @ Sheraton Riverwalk and when I'm back in town for pleasure, I'll definitely be looking to come back. Very friendly and courteous staff, comfortable rooms make it well worth it! « less

We were assigned a gorgeous room with river view. The pool is very clean and quiet. We enjoyed the tasty food from room service and free internet. The free shuttle bus to the port is very convenient. Highly recommend Sheraton Riverwalk Tampa. Thank you for making our vacation so wonderful! « less

So, when u rolled downstairs hungry and cranky, the manager sweetly offered me a free pass to the hot buffet. I know, standard practice, but it's nice to get great service to start your day. Just make sure to book on the river side. The street is so loud!! Motorcycles and yelling at 2 am (not under the hotel's control, but the manager promised an upgrade to the river side next time). « less
