- I stayed here one week for business and all in all it was a positive experience. My room was on one of the two executive floor rooms (11 and 12 – 11 has the concierge lounge but 12 has the ice machine) and I found it to be a good size, quiet and nicely updated complete with a comfy bed and large screen LCD TV. The concierge lounge offers continental breakfast with the usual fare (nothing special, but for free it’s decent) and evening snacks (fresh veggies and some different fried appetizer). The fitness center was a decent size with newer cardio machines. The location is great, near the airport, a mall, and lots of good restaurants. The only improvement I could suggest was the food – I ate in the bar once and had room service once, both of which were lackluster even for hotel food. All in all a good place to stay and one that I would return to if I were in the area. « less

- My family and I stayed the night on July 11 with the park and cruise plan (free parking while on a cruise). The hotel room and service was execellent. On the morning of July 12, the shuttle service was timely and the driver was very friendly. When we got to port, I asked the driver what do I do when the cruise is over. He said to just call the front desk and a shuttle would be sent to pick us up. We had a great vacation on our first cruise. Got back to the port in Tampa, hired a porter to take our luggage to the shuttle service drop/off and pick/up area. I called the hotel (with the porter's cell phone) and was told that they only take people to the port for cruises, but they do not provide a shuttle service to pick them up. I related to the attendant what the driver had told me - and I was simply told that the driver was wrong and we were disconnected. The porter told us that Hilton always picks up people following their cruises and takes them back and suggested that I call them again - on his phone a second time. My wife called again and she was given the same response. I paid the porter $30 because he had patiently been with us for at that point nearly 40 minutes and was not able to go back in and get another customer. We took a $25 cab/van back to the hotel. My wife explained the whole situation to Suzanne H (supervisor) who was very apologetic and quickly refunded us the $25. for the cab fare Suzanne also offered to reimburse us the $30 I had given the porter (shouldn't have been over $10) but would have to clear this with her controller, AND said that this "would be the least that we do." She said that she would contact us in a few days and relate how Hilton would be addressing this issue and was very apologetic. I was fine with the $25 refund, but Suzanne volunteered to reimburse us the $30 porter fee, and indicated this would be "the least" that is done to rectify the situation. Neither my wife nor I asked that the $30 be refunded or anything else beyond the cab fare - the supervisor volunteered this. All of the front desk staff wear badges that say "whatever it takes" on them so I was really impressed with how they handled the situation and at the time, I thought they were truly living by their motto. Today is July 30 and we have heard nothing from Suzanne or anyone else at the Hilton. "Whatever it takes" apparently has meaning when you are standing in the lobby I guess , and once you are back home, it means nothing. Again, this was a great hotel, very clean room, quiet pool and very nice staff. The issue I have is being told that I would receive an additional refund (again that was not requested, but instead volunteered) at the least, and that we would be hearing from Hilton within a few days. I would recommend that others stay here, but not depend on the shuttle service following a cruise. « less

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us. It is gratifying to know that you enjoyed our accommodations and the service you received. However, I would like to apologize for the confusion with the shutlle service as well as the lack of follow-through by Suzanne. She is no longer part of our team but I do want to reimburse you the $30 as she promised. If you would please contact me directly (General Manager at the hotel) so that you can give me your contact info, I will send you a check for this amount. Also, I would like to clarify our shuttle service to the Port of Tampa. The hotel only provides transportation to the port but does not pick-up returning passengers. I have reviewed with all of our team that they need to communicate this information accurately to our guests so as to avoid any confusion on this service. Thank you for brining this to our attention. We look forwarad to having you stay with us when you return to Tampa.

- Check-in was fast and the room was clean, comfortable and the lobby was quiet. We rented a car via priceline so I can't respond to the timeliness of the shuttle. No complaints. It would have been nice if the room would have come equipped with a fridge. The only inconvenience we experienced was an empty ice machine. The hotel is in a great location--close to the airport, close to international plaza, close to places to eat, close (approx. 20 min.) to clearwater beach. I'll will certainly stay here again on my next trip to Tampa. « less

- Called when I landed. They said call from baggage claim even though I had no luggage. Called from baggage claim. They put me on hold for 5 minutes and dropped the call. Called back. They put me on hold for another 10 minutes. I took a cab for $15. Supervisor Jessica Gonzmart was polite but could not make me whole or accomodate me in anyway. « less

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel. I am so sorry for the difficulty you experienced in trying to get our shuttle to pick you up when you arrived at the airport as well as the fact that we didn't make it right for you. I've reviewed your comments with Jessica and the Front Desk team so that they realize the impact of their actions.
We hope you will give us another opporutnity to serve when you return to Tampa. Please contact me directly.
Sincerely, Marcia Dmochowski, General Manager
