- Have been staying in Marriott's for years all over the country and this by far was the worst experience sleeping room wise. First room we checked into on the 4th floor reeked of cigarette smoke and it was posted as a NON SMOKING ROOM! Informed the front desk immediately about this and asked to change rooms, they seemed not surprised that a non smoking room reeked of smoke nor apologized about it as if this is a re-accuring thing. Was luckily able to get another room but now on the 1st floor, so had to cart down all our luggage again. This room did not smell of smoke, was listed as non smoking too but overall the rooms were not up to par. Very outdated, carpets dingy and felt filthy. Sheets were not up to par, minimal amount of soap and amenities in the bathroom, mirror closet door was tough to shut tight...the entire room and bathroom just felt old and worn out. The photos online of the hotel don't seem that bad, actually they show new bedding on the beds which were not in the sleeping rooms. The lobby was fine, seemed to be updated, along with the restaurant and front desk area but as far as the hallways and sleeping rooms, it was not good. If you are looking to be close to City Place this is a great located but prepare to be sleeping in rooms that compare to a Day's Inn. Unfortuantley, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone I know which is ashame being in the hotel/hospitality business and will not stay here again. « less

- We booked this hotel through Priceline for a birthday get-away. It was clean, quiet, and close to City Place and downtown - within walking distance, which we did on some occasions. On other occasions, we took the shuttle - the drivers were AWESOME. Super friendly, and we never waited for more than 10 minutes for a shuttle.
We loved the pool area and spent most of our time there. It was great except for the final day (Saturday) as more guests were in attendance and smoking was allowed (since we are not smokers, we are sensitive to that).
Access into the property by car is a little tricky. The front desk was very helpful with explaining the best way into and out of the parking lot.
The coffee in the restaurant was great (Starbuck's), but the a la carte items were pricey. Since we had a fridge in the room (King), we just grabbed some breakfast items at Publix and ate in the courtyard each morning.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for a couple's get-away. « less

- First room, I couldnt walk around barefoot because of the grit and grime I felt under my feet. I asked to change rooms only to be taken to the exact same looking and feeling room. In this new room I then pulled down the sheets only to find pieces of toilet paper and pubic hair. I called the front desk and after 20 mins someone finally showed up with linens in her arms, saying, upon my opening the door to her "you needed linens? Here you go." After explaining why I wasnt going to change my own sheets (duh) and showing her the dirty existing sheets, she immediately moved me to a suite which was very clean and well maintained but thats probably because it is not used very often. Looks like a VIP room. I travel on business every week and frequent Marriotts. I would never stay at this again. The hotel response to all of this was simply a letter from the GM apologizing. « less

- Stayed at the WPB Marriott for a Mini vacation over the 4th of July weekend. We had a great stay. We had the buffet breakfast, used the pool and also the gym. As a Gold Member we had access to the Concierge Lounge on the 10th floor which was a nice touch and free internet. « less
