- I was a little leary of staying here after all the negative reviews I read but I did anyway. Well I am glad I did. I was greeted by a warm smile by the front office supervisor upon check in. I had a few questions to ask her and she answered each and every one without missing a beat. The rooms where a little run down but not to bad. When I made the reservation I asked for a room on the first floor and something I could pull up to and I wanted it to be by the lobby. I thought that I would at least get 1 thing I requested. I was very shocked when they gave me everything I asked for. It was very nice. There was a couple of kids out late and making some noise. I called the front desk and right away a spanish security guard came out and took care of the problem. He was very nice and professional and told us if we needed anything else to just call the lobby. I would stay here again and again and again. The staff members is what made our stay pleasant, « less

Booked on Hotwire - thankfully got a refund from them after they talked to the manager and he didn't contradict anything I said. Avoid!! « less

- When I made the reservation, I got the impression this was a "Clarion". The woman who took my reservation was professional, accurate and touted the property as getting ready to undergoe a huge renovation. So, I expected to find a property in transition. What I found was confusion at the front desk, keys were being given out to rooms that were occupied. The young blond at the desk was trying to find the number of a supervisor to ask a question on what to do. There was no management on site and the young girl seemed to be totally flustered as how to check me in. I thought it just might be a personnel problem, but then I went to the room where there was mold in the room, garbage left over in the pail and used soap in the shower. I wasn't taking chances on the sheets so I stripped back the bed asking for new sheets to be brought to me. About 2 hours later a man, not wearing any identifying uniform just a stocking cap over his head and frankly looked like he was up to something was knocking on my door. I hesitated to let him in until the point where he started shouting "Sheets". Turns out later during the night, when I got up to go out for coffee (no coffe in my room, only a coffeemaker with no carafe) the same man was in the parking lot. I am glad he identfied himself as security because my first impression was that he was pretty seedy looking.
In the morning, I was anxious to leave, but thought I would take advantage of the convenience of the restaurant. 'Terrible food, worse service and no etiquette at all was displayed by the servers.
As I checked out I asked for the woman who had made the reservation. I was told she was no longer there as she was let go. Again I was surprised by lack of etiquette displayed by this staff who had no understanding of customer service or what a Clarion should represent.
I was not comfortable here, security looked thuglike and the front desk was distracted. The rooms were not clean and I should have expected this since the front desk had soda cans and dishes on it too.
CLARION PRICES AT THIS HOTEL_WHAT A JOKE! I AM GREATFUL FOR THE 100% SATISFACTION GUARANTEE. THIS TIME I WILL INVOKE IT AND NEVER STAY THERE AGAIN. « less

- We were in town to watch the Savannah College of Art and Design baseball team compete at the Chain O' Lakes regional tournament for the NAIA. Our team (and parents) as well as two other college teams were at the hotel. Prior reviews were not favorable and our expectations were low. We checked in with courteous front desk personnel, a nice clean room with a king size bed. All a little dated and not the Ritz but given the price and location better than expected. They gave us a late check out and everyone at the hotel were nice and efficient. Don't expect too much but i would return again. SCAD parents. « less

- We arrived late on the day of our arrival. Check-in was no problem, however, we found out later that their computers were down. So, there was no record that myself nor my friends were there. This could have resulted in them giving our rooms to someone else that same evening.
When we went to our rooms there were several suspicious characters milling about the parking lots on their cells phones talking and creating noise. Mind you this is about 11pm! We did not feel safe leaving our rooms once inside. It was our impression these people were actually living there. Not sure what the management was doing about it or if they were aware of this situation. Their antics went thruout the night. We did call the front desk, but it did not appear anything was done about the situation.
The room was bare bones, tub was old, toilets were old, coffee pot was missing parts, sink did not drain and smelled, carpet was stained and the front curtains did not close all the way. Thank goodness we were only staying there like 9 hours before having to depart early the following morning.
Beds were good and linens were clean. We were promised first floor rooms and 3/5 of us were on the second floor.
Customer service/desk staff was very good and professional. I had left something in my room and was able to pick it up the following day, they had it at the desk for me.
I guess these days for $75, this is what you get.
Spend an extra 20USD and stay at the Hampton or Holiday Inns less than 1mile away on Rt540. « less
