The Inn at Folkston

Location. Located on two acres, the Inn at Folkston is positioned one-quarter mile from the historical Charlton County Courthouse and downtown Folkston, Ga. The Folkston Golf Club is one mile away, and Shalom Park is less than three miles away. The inn is located less than 11 miles from the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge.
Features. Built in 1923, this heart pine, bungalow-style inn features a wide veranda with overhanging eaves and high walls facing tall pine and magnolia trees. Full, complimentary breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room. Dinner is available for a fee. The inn offers complimentary wireless Internet access, a fax machine, color printer, photocopier and office supplies. The veranda contains wicker furniture and a six-person spa tub. The inn includes living and dining rooms with gas log fireplaces. Book collections offering information about Georgia and local attractions are available. A television, VCR and educational videos about the nearby Okefenokee Swamp are provided in the living room. The inn's deck overlooks an herb garden, and is a popular venue for bird-watching. Pets are not allowed.

Guestrooms. All guestrooms and suites at The Inn at Folkston are individually decorated. The rooms offer private bathrooms and bathrobes embroidered with the inn's logo. Complimentary bottled water, flowers and candies are provided. Guestrooms feature featherbeds and down comforters. The Hanna Norway room features a pine floor and a Scandinavian bed.

Expert Tip. The town of Folkston provides ample opportunities for train-watching at the Folkston Funnel Train Viewing Platform or the Historic Train Depot.
