Overview
Location. The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort is located in Kaanapali, Hawaii, on the island of Maui. This vacation villa is adjacent to the white sands of Kaanapali Beach. Lahaina's shopping, dining, and nightlife are within five miles to the south. The east Maui town of Hana is 76 miles from this property; the route to Hana is a famed drive that winds through the lush Hawaiian countryside.
Hotel Features. Set amid 14 acres, the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort enjoys a beachfront perch on Kaanapali Beach. The resort's main buildings are arranged around an outdoor swimming pool that has a grotto, waterfall, waterslide and two spa tubs. The palm studded grounds also feature tennis courts and a fitness center. Food is available at the on-site restaurant and the general store. A kids' club offers games and activities (surcharges apply). Complimentary amenities include garage parking and high-speed Internet access in public areas. This Westin does not allow pets.
Guestrooms. Although some of the guest units are privately owned, resort guests receive hotel-style services, such as daily housekeeping. All guest quarters have private lanais with garden, mountain or ocean views. Fully equipped kitchens have appliances and a breakfast bar. Guestrooms have Westin's Heavenly Bed and Heavenly Bath amenities. Beds feature a custom- designed pillowtop mattress, 230-thread count, 100-percent cotton sheets, a comforter, a white duvet, five goose-down or feather pillows, and a bolster pillow. Bathrooms have separate showers, jetted tubs and bathrobes. Other amenities include a television, DVD players and a Bose Wave radio. Washers and dryers are in all guest quarters.
Expert Tip. Nearby Lahaina has one of the world's biggest banyan trees. The tree takes up one city block, and its shade covers nearly an acre. The banyan tree was planted in 1873, back when Lahaina was a whaling and trading town. Today, Lahaina embraces those roots while it cultivates its reputation as "The Art Capital of the Pacific" through its 40 art galleries.
