Patchwork Quilt Country Inn

The Patchwork Quilt Country Inn is located in Middlebury, Ind., in Amish country. The inn is approximately one-half mile from the arts and crafts showcase in Shipshewana, Ind. Fishing and swimming are available at Hunter Lake, located four miles from the property. Krider Gardens, which features a 1934 walk-through garden, ponds, English tea house, giant toadstool and windmill, is approximately seven miles away.
The Patchwork Quilt Country Inn, built in 1875 and renovated into a bed and breakfast in 1862, is decorated with handmade quilts and a variety of arts and crafts. The staff is predominantly Amish or Mennonite, and an authentic Amish buggy is parked in front of the inn for guests to photograph. Complimentary country-style breakfast buffets are provided each morning in the attached restaurant, which serves some gourmet foods and a large selection of home-style dishes with Amish influence. Complimentary wireless Internet and fax services are available. The inn also features a gift shop. The grounds of the inn include fields of corn and wheat, vegetable and flower gardens, a rustic barn, and a nature trail where whitetail deer can be spotted on occasion. Pets are not allowed.

The Patchwork Quilt Country Inn offers 15 guest accommodations, all featuring country décor, antique beds and handmade Amish quilts. All accommodations include private bathrooms, some with jetted tubs or spa tubs. One of the suites offers a kitchenette and sitting area, while the hot tub suite includes a five-person hot tub and two bedrooms. Select accommodations include fireplaces. All units offer televisions, some with VCRs or DVD players.
