Wild Iris Inn

Location. Located in a historic neighborhood in downtown Portland, Maine, the Wild Iris Inn offers bed and breakfast accommodations just one-quarter mile from Portland’s art district and Deering Oak Park. Portland’s Old Port, less than one mile away, offers cobblestone streets bursting with boutique shops, while the Maine Mall, less than two miles away, offers over 140 modern shops, and is the largest indoor shopping center in the state.
Hotel Features. The Wild Iris Inn, built in 1894 as a two-family home, still retains many of its original features. The common living room area features a television with HBO, VCR, stereo, movies, games and books. The inn’s on-site business center is equipped with a computer, wireless Internet access, and a printer/copier/fax machine. A complimentary buffet breakfast consisting of homemade granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, and an assortment of homemade breads or muffins is served every morning.

Guestrooms. Wild Iris Inn offers seven guest rooms, five with private baths. Standard rooms share a bathroom. All rooms have been restored with care, and include down comforters. Some have separate sitting areas. Guestrooms are located on the second and third floors.

Expert Tip. The flagship L.L. Bean Factory Store, located in the city of Freeport eighteen miles from the inn, is not just a good stop for outdoor clothing enthusiasts. The 24-hour store also offers a trout pond and moving rock-climbing wall, and sponsors free outdoor concerts at Discovery Park in the summer.
