Location. Slade's Inn is set on 25 acres of rolling pastures in Monkton, Md. The property is less than seven miles from Gunpowder Falls State Park. Boordy Vineyards offers wine tasting and tours less than nine miles away.
Features. This historic three-story, Victorian-style home features two turrets and a large front porch with white wicker furniture. The common living room offers a fireplace and antique furnishings. Expert Tip. The estate of Slade's Inn was originally part of "My Lady's Manor," once the hunting and camping grounds of the Piscataway Indians. Charles Calvert, the third Lord Baltimore, passed through this area in 1667 on a trip to make peace with the Indians, and reserved 10,000 acres of the land for himself. In 1713, he named the land "My Lady's Manor" in honor of his wife.
