Overview
The Market Street Inn is a complex of six historic homes located one block from the waterfront in historic downtown Newburyport, Mass. The property is positioned in a residential area along the Merrimac River, and is one-quarter mile from shopping and dining in Brown Square and the center of town. The inn is also one-half mile from the botanical gardens and hiking at Plumb Beach.
This Federal-style inn was built by ship captains, merchants and shipwrights in the 18th century, and was renovated in 1990. Each of the Market Street Inn’s apartments and condos are located in one of six historic, Colonial-period homes. The houses retain many original features such as moldings, wainscoting, wide pine floors and fireplaces. Pets are not allowed.
The Market Street Inn is divided into 23 apartments and condos. All apartments feature fully equipped kitchens, living rooms and one or two bedrooms. Apartments include cable television, VCRs and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
