Location Morgan’s Way Bed & Breakfast is located on five acres of landscaped grounds on Cape Cod in Orleans, Mass. One mile from the inn, Orleans offers shopping, galleries, restaurants serving fresh local seafood, and a historic district with museums and live theater. Nauset Beach is one-and-one-half miles from the property. Nickerson State Park, less than three miles from the inn, features an amphitheater, hiking and biking trails, and a stocked trout pond. The Cape Cod National Seashore is five miles away.
Features. Built in 1954, the inn boasts a multi-level deck which wraps around the south side of the house, and overlooks the surrounding woodlands and gardens. A heated outdoor pool bordered by gardens is adjacent to the deck. Complimentary, full breakfasts are served daily, including crustless spinach quiche, Grand Marnier French toast and cheddar eggs with chives. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout the property. The inn features cathedral ceilings with natural oak beams, oriental carpets and porcelains, original Cape Cod artwork, and antique and handmade reproduction furniture. The second-floor living room features a wood-burning stove, cable television, VCR, library, piano, wet bar and a mini fridge. Sliding doors open onto a small deck with spiral stairs leading down to the pool. Pets are not allowed at this property.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms offer private bathrooms, CD stereos, cable television and VCRs. The Greenhouse Room connects to a small greenhouse that opens to the pool and deck area. The Blue Room, located on the second floor, offers access to the pool from the deck off the second-floor living room. The Poolside Cottage boasts a kitchen and a private deck.
Expert Tip. Orleans, Mass., was the only American town to suffer an attack by the Germans in World War I. A German U-boat fired upon the tug Perth Amboy and four barges off Nauset beach in July 1918.
