- I have never checked into a hotel where there were at least 50 people ahead of me checking in at the same time. However it did go quick and smooth. They did not have the king bed that we originally reserved. But we were given upgrade to the chairmans tower for the same rate as taj mahal(which was a plus to us). This is a beauiful hotel we did not want for anything during our 4 nights stay. Our room was spotless and well kept each day.
The only problem I had was, the $12.95 per day charge for internet service. I thought all hotel had free wireless internet access I took my laptop and had no internet acces. Plus the business center was down without internet service most of our visit. « less

- Stayed at the TAJ over the weekend with my girlfriend and got a room in the Chairman's Tower, which is nicer than the other options at this hotel and quite modern. Room had not been cleaned when we checked in, which was uncomfortable as it was not clear if anyone was still staying in it. Don't bother calling the front desk for help as it's unlikely anyone will answer your call. We were told by housekeeping that someone would be up to clean the room, "not right away but as soon as possible".
Luckily we encountered a very nice cleaning employee in the hallway and she cleaned our room very well while we went to dinner. The air conditioning in our room was not functioning upon our entry, and we told both the nice cleaning woman and the people on the phone at "guest services". The cleaning woman didn't speak much english, and assured us the AC would work soon enough. It did not.
For the rest of our trip, we complained to Guest Services and maintenance about the AC and we never saw anyone attempt to fix it. We were never offered another room. It worked properly for 2 of the 40 hours we stayed there and that seemed to be related to nothing more than dumb luck.
The $12.95/day internet also did now work (of course). We called the helpline for AT&T wireless (the provider) and the actually provided helpful troubleshooting but eventually informed us that there was a service interruption at the hotel. Upon calling the front desk to ask for other options for internet usage (since their entire hotel lacked a connection) they first challenged our assertion that the internet was down (I do digital video and sound editing in my spare time and am no small-time crook with technology), then informed us that we had to pay for internet (we tried, obviously not possible) and then directed us to the business center where we could use the internet on their computers for $.50/minute. No one could recommend a nearby location that might have a different internet option (we stumbled upon the nearby Wyndham Hotel which cheerfully gave us free internet in their lobby).
Lines at the restaurants (specifically plate) were long and slow and service was again quite poor. The fitness center costs $20 per person per day. I don't blame the specific employees we encountered, as many seemed very nice, if overworked, but it seems that management has sacrificed all customer service and relies on demand for lodging on the boardwalk to fill up the hotel. Needless to say I will not be returning to this property and am unlikely to try another Trump property in the future. « less

- So I had a weekend stay reserved in a Chairman's Tower Deluxe Room. Arrived Friday night at 8pm and was told I would have to wait at least an hour before my room would be ready unless I wanted to downgrade to a Taj Tower room. Strike one.
As it turns out the Taj Tower room was subjected to a ton of blinding light at night from the spotlights that light up the building at night. Strike two.
The bathroom vent fan is wired to run constantly. Noisy. The cover on the bathroom vent had about a 1/4 inch of dust on it. Disgusting. Strike three.
The bathroom sink would only trickle cold water out. Strike four.
The class (or lack thereof) of the customers at this hotel made me feel like I was at a two star hotel. Strike five.
I will never return. « less

- The rooms were ok, we had two connected rooms on a high floor with an indirect ocean view. The rooms are basic but sized pretty well. For the price we paid though (~$425 after tax), we could probably have gotten a better deal elsewhere. The hotel is located on the boardwalk. The newer popular hotels, i.e. Borgata are a ways away, need to drive or take a taxi over there. We at breakfast at the Taj which was ok, but nothing great. We did dinner elsewhere as friends had been to better restaurants at other resorts (Harrah's had a good dinner buffet). « less

- First time staying at this facility and found it O.K......after the first night. Stayed in the Trump Tower and found the rooms a little....'outdated'. Upon initially entering our room at 4:15 p.m., for a five night stay, we found that the T.V. didn't operate properly and the phone wasn't working. Seven hours later, after our second visit to the front desk, a very nice maintenance worker came to our room and fixed the t.v. (unplugged it and reset it and gave us a new remote). I had already fixed the phone myself.........found that the phone jack plug was broken and had become detached from the phone. But, the room was clean, smoke free as promised, and maid service was attentive to any needs throughout our stay. Tons of slots, not too crowded on the boardwalk for the airshow and the concert (Stevie Nicks) was excellent.
Also, remember that wireless internet service is available, but not FREE! Actually, rather expensive on a daily basis. Don't know how it works as I did not purchase it. « less
