- A group of four women including myself stayed at this hotel in the Hacienda and Spa section for 3 nights which was included in the purchase of an "Opera Package". We were treated with the utmost courtesy and helpfulness during our entire stay. The desk staff as well as our butler and the concierge were willing to go above and beyond the call of duty for us. Example: We needed a large cardboard tube shortened to fit in a suitcase and asked the desk staff if he could take care of it for us. Without hesitating he took the tube and had the Chef slice it down for us. Our rooms were decorated in a tasteful Native American motif. The bathrooms were very clean, large and roomy with a glass walk in shower, granite counter tops and tiled floors. We had a gift basket of assorted fruits in the room when we arrived as well as 2 bottles of water replaced each day. There was a safe in the room and a cash mini bar. The gas fireplace was an added bonus. The linens were turned down each evening and a chocolate placed on the bed. We had a full breakfast everyday at the restaurant and dinner one evening. All of the food was fresh and delicious. The spa was one of the nicest spas my friend said she has been to and she has been to spas throughout the world. Getting around Santa Fe was very easy as the purple hotel shuttles are always available to take you anywhere you care to go. This hotel is about 10 minutes from the square so there are not as many tourists walking around the area. Very quiet and peaceful. We took the train from Albuquerque to Santa Fe and walked to the hotel with our luggage which is just a block from the train station and also a block from the local Farmer's Market. The only minus we could see with this hotel is that it pretty much closes down at 10pm. The shuttles do not run after 10pm. We did take a taxi back from dinner one night. We would not hesitate to book another hotel stay here and we hope to repeat our visit for next year's Opera season. « less

- My wife and I spent four nights here last month. The hotel was warm, atmospheric, clean, comfortable. Our room had a king bed, a lovely sitting area, plenty of room and closet space. The speed and precision of the shuttle service was impressive-- the shuttle is direct service to and from everyplace we wanted to go in the city of Santa Fe (Plaza, Canyon Road, museums, restaurants, bars) with pickups on call. The food at the restaurant is fresh and delicious and the seating areas (indoor and out) are beautiful. The pool and hot tubs are moderately sized but just lovely. The spa is exquisite-- try the basalt stone treatment and the rooftop hot tub! And every single member of the staff was gracious, friendly and knowledgable. Why anybody would pay twice the price to stay at one of the monolithic, shopping mall monstrosities is a complete mystery to us-- and we checked each one out in person while we were in Santa Fe. We'll be back to Hotel Santa Fe as often as we can get there. « less

- If you don't want the touristy bustle of the Plaza, exploring the Hotel Santa Fe is an excellent option. If you want the Plaza, they will wisk you there in no time. Never a wait for a shuttle, or any request. All interactions completed with the utmost of courtesy and friendliness. Hotel is clean, nicely-maintained, and respectful of the traditional Santa Fe culture. Good restaurant, reasonably-priced, and in a beautiful setting. Good morning coffee and tea abound. If you'd like to venture out for meals in the area, Sagebrush Bakery (across the street) has wonderful muffins/breads/pastries freshly-made on premises. A block down the street Vinaigrette is fresh and organic, with well-priced innovative salads. A block behind the hotel is Tomasita's, Southwestern at its best. Railyard and Guadalupe areas offer other interesting dining and shopping venues. Pool, although somewhat small, is relaxing and convenient to all rooms. Easy parking and use of all hotel amenities. Would be happy to return! « less

- We booked this hotel through Priceline (although did not bid on the price of the room) as we were traveling across the country and had a booked of number of our rooms online through Trip Advisor. This fact came up after 2 days at the hotel, after being spoken to rudely at check-in, later when asking for directions to Bandelier Monument. (Me: Would have know how long the drive is? Desk Manager: No, I wouldn't. Me: Is there a concierge would could help? Manager: Well, if you wouldn't interrupt me, I would tell you.) On the morning we checked out, our bill arrived under the door, and was confusing. Calling downstairs, a woman explained to me that "Since you had booked on Priceline, that's why your bill looks different. Actually this room is much more expensive." How much more? Apparently about $40 more than I had spent. In any event, I asked her if our getting the room through Priceline explained the rudeness we had encountered. She paused, and apologized. The hotel is nice, they offer free shuttles to different locations in the old town. The grounds are also lovely. But the rudeness? A reason we would never return, and recommend to others to find a different location in this friendly town. « less

We are very sorry that this guest had a negative experience while visiting us. We take any issues like the one mentioned above as serious and will make every effort to ensure that it does not reoccur for any of our future guests. Our front desk staff strives to provide the best and most helpful customer service of any in Santa Fe, and whenever we have found that we have failed to meet our high expectations, we hope that we are given the opportunity to demonstrate that that was the exception and not the norm. We hope this guest will give us another chance on a return trip so we can repair our impression to one that is more typical with staying at the Hotel Santa Fe.

- The location is great--close to The Plaza. You can easily walk or take the shuttle to The Plaza.
The staff people working the front desk are efficient but not helpful or friendly. They act like they are doing you a real favor to answer a question.
The King room was adequate-however the location right off the parking lot was terrible. We were located right next to the door which was only locked at night--so not very secure at all.
The sleeping area and living area are adequate--however there was a blanket and a pillow placed on the bed that looked as if neither had been washed recently---that really had me concerned--it looked great---but not so clean!!
The toilet area is tiny---I am not a big person and I kept hitting my foot on the door when I was trying to exit the toilet/shower area---there is just no room at all in there---so a large person would not have a chance of getting in or out of that area for sure. The bathroom area looked as though the floor had not been recently cleaned---it was vacumned but not clean--also the walls next to the sink area looked as though someone had spit on them---really gross.
This is not a place where I would return..there are way too many choices when going to Santa Fe.
The hallway was littered with dirty dishes and broken glass that was never vacumned even after 4 days.
We did not try the Spa as we both thought the pricing was terribly high compared to other spas we have used. The pool area is so small that I was wondering why bother to even have one. « less Read management response to this review.
We were very dismayed to learn of this negative experience with this guest's stay at Hotel Santa Fe. We always make every attempt we can to provide a positive experience for our guests and if there is something we have not done well, we would like to know so we are given the opportunity to correct it. This experience is not representative of the thousands of guests that stay with us each month and we hope this guest will contact us so that we may be able to provide them with a more typical and positive experience next time.
