- This hotel really is a lovely hotel and was one of the highlights of our recent route 66 trip across America. The lobby area was lovely, beautifully decorated with Mexican colours and lots of plants, creating a lovely cool, relaxing feeling away from the heat outside. There were some very comfortable couches to sit on overlooking the pool area outside and this was where free sherry was served every afternoon. Our room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated and furnished with flat screen TV, refrigerator and coffee making facilities. Although there wasn't actually wi-fi connection, there were computers in the lobby area for guest use. The pool area was a great place to relax, although I think a few more sun beds could be provided.
Everyone in the hotel was very friendly and Santa Fe itself was an absolute delight. There was so much to see - wonderful architecture, jewellery shops and fine restaurants. The hotel was very central, just within 2 or 3 minutes walk of the Plaza.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a good variety of food on offer.
I would recommend this hotel 100 per cent - I really couldn't imagine a better place to stay. « less

- This hotel was hands down wonderful. Granted it is a little dated but there was a certain charm about being somewhere that wasn't granite and modern. The lobby is charming, the pool is welcoming, the sherry and tea reception was a nice touch, the rooms were comfy and I was thrilled that we had a refrigerator and coffee maker. This hotel is central to Loretto Chapel, the Plaza, shopping and great restaurants. The best part was the absolutely delicious breakfast. The eggs with chiles was delicious, the sausage was tasty and the overall presentation and selection was hands down my favorite breakfast for our whole trip. If you want a cozy hotel with no frills this is a great place to be. « less

- We were first time visitors to Santa Fe and the Inn of the Governors was a wonderful find. A perfect location, close walking distance to The Plaza. A park like place surrounded by quaint shops, galleries, and restaurants. The Inn is New Mexico at it's best, friendly and welcoming staff, southwestern decor, and plenty of history. Tea and sherry served every afternoon. A wonderfully cooked buffet breakfast (included with our room) We had a cute southwestern Kiva fireplace in our room (set up for fires by housekeepers for you) Everything was clean, comfortable, and homey. The patio restaurant had great food and the Inn's corner bar is one of the most popular in the area. Need a restaurant ?? According to guidebooks there are 85 restaurants in a ten block radius of the Inn. One of these was on Rachel Ray's travel show and two others have been given James Beard awards. We recommend the Inn of the Governors to everyone and we'll be back soon. « less

- We drove into Santa Fe without reservations, wanting to stay right in town. We didn't know that it was an especially busy weekend.
This place was great. The room was clean, cosy and well cared for. Breakfast was included and was hot with a delicious variety to choose from. Sherry and tea was served in the lobby in the afternoon. There was a beautiful secluded outdoor pool, surrounded by greenery. Parking was right there. The management was accessible and very helpful. A computor and printer are in the lobby. Best of all it was close to all the shops and restaurants, we never used the car. « less

- About five minutes' walk from the Plaza so very convenient. The hotel is like a good motel. Nothing very fancy, but good service, good inclusive breakfast, nice heated pool. The room was a bit small for a family and the maid always managed to forget one thing each day. But for the price paid well worth the stay. The house margaritas are great and the food is good quality, if fairly basic. Inclusive parking is a bonus and we always managed to find a space. « less
