- We have been to Santa Fe many times, however this is the first time we stayed at the Old Santa Fe Inn. The staff was friendly and attentive, the breakfasts were yummy and the room was spacious and comfortable. This inn is indeed walking distance from the plaza as advertised, so it was nice to be able to leave our car. « less

- Have been to Santa Fe many times in the past but this stay was the best, all because of the accomodations. The Old Santa Fe Inn was quiet, relaxing and offered everything we could ask for, including a very pleasant and helpful staff. It is the perfect mix of a luxury hotel and a comfortable bed and breakfast. Just three blocks of of the square.
We will continue to visit Santa Fe and the Old Santa Fe Inn. « less

- I spent over a month at Old Santa Fe Inn - the end of June through early August. My stay was absolutely without a flaw, and I recommend it wholeheartedly to everyone. The location is magnificent - close to The Plaza yet just away from all the noise and crowds; there is spacious availability of guest parking. With an impeccably clean and well-appointed room given daily attention by professional, friendly, and enjoyable housekeepers; a perfect breakfast each morning prepared by delightful inn staff; a front desk personnel always attentive, articulate, and helpful; grounds that are well-landscaped; a plentiful array of cookies and drinks each afternoon; daily newspapers (and the inn even graciously provides the Sunday New York Times); an immaculately clean work-out/fitness facility; a well-stocked snack-machine center; and the entire facility staff wanting guests to have wonderful experiences, I am fortunate to be one of those guests to have experienced this generous and thoughtful hospitality. I look forward to my next visit. To have Old Santa Fe Inn as a Santa Fe "find" makes anyone's experience in this city and area even better - the overall rating is A+++++++++++!! « less

- My wife and I stayed here for three nights in July 2010, having booked directly through the hotel’s website as we found this to be the best deal.
The location of the hotel is very good, just on the outskirts of the Santa Fe’s small old town. It’s no more than a five minute stroll to the Plaza where there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafés. Reaching the hotel by car is really easy as the streets of Santa Fe are really quiet. There is free parking in the hotel’s courtyard, so no need for valets.
Our room was on the first floor and was cosy and comfortable. We especially liked the Kiva fire, which was operated by a switch on the wall. It’s gas powered and the pilot light stays on permanently, so at night when it’s dark there is the slightest glow from the corner of the room!
Breakfast was included with out rate and was a tasty spread including fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, breads and spreads, as well as make your own waffles. There was also a burrito bar and hotplate for heating the bread, and a cooked selection of bacon and eggs. All-in-all, it was a pretty good way to start the day. The majority of the seating was inside, but there was also a small enclosed outdoor patio area with three or four tables. Beyond breakfast, cookies were available from 4:00 in the reception and iced water with lemons was available all day long.
It’s worth noting that there is free WiFi throughout the hotel, as well as two computer terminals for guests to use with complimentary printing. As we spent very little time in the hotel we met very few staff members. Those who we did meet were more standoffish than friendly, but were professional all the same.
In Santa Fe we enjoyed exploring the craft shops around the Plaza, touring the Palace of the Governors, soaking up the New Mexico atmosphere in adobe bars as we drank delicious margaritas, and eating out in some superb restaurants. We would recommend trying to get a balcony table at The Ore House on the Plaza, as well as gorgeous Indian food at The Indian House.
We came to Santa Fe from Albuquerque and drove the scenic Turquoise Trail – we would HIGHLY recommend that you that this route rather than the freeway if you have the time. The towns of Madrid and Cerrillos are well worth the detour, as is the spectacular scenery.
For a great day out we recommend heading north to Taos on the High Road, visiting Taos Plaza and Pueblo, driving west out of town to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, and then back to through Taos and south back to Santa Fe via the Low (River) Road. « less
