- I came here alone a few days before attending a workshop in Abiquiu because I wanted to get used to the 7000 foot alltitude before the workshop started. I also wanted to explore Santa Fe as I had never been there before. I chose the Anasazi because of it's location downtown because I did not have a car. The location is perfect and you can walk to everything in Santa Fe. The inn is very relaxed and the staff is extremely friendly and made me feel right at home. The consierge was particularly helpful in finding me a tour of Taos. The restaurant is very good and I often used room service since I was alone. One day I had a massage and the lady recommended the Loretto Hotel restaurant and that turned out to be excellent. The rooms are nicely furnished in the southwestern style. They had gas fireplaces as well. I was in two different rooms due to a booking mistake on my part. The first room was quite large with a nice sitting area. The bath was spacious and clean. The second room was much smaller but still nice. I disagree with those who say they need refurbishing, I did not see that. There was maid service twice a day. I had stayed in the Rosewood Turtle Creek in Dallas and I find this hotel to be on the same par. « less

- Though I didn't stay at the Inn of the Anasazi, I did consider it. We ended up staying at the La Fonda for four nights last week. The La Fonda has some elegant rooms in The Terrace and you can also enjoy their historic hotel.
I stopped by the Inn of the Anasazi on my way out of Santa Fe to view a room as we were considering staying there on our next trip. Unfortunately, the person at the desk acted as if I was bothering him. I was surprised that he stated no rooms were available for view at noon. In any event, my first impression was not a friendly one and I didn't have the time to check back later as he advised. I hope this was an isolated incident as the common areas are very lovely and the location excellent. At this point, I would certainly consider another hotel. When choosing lodging, first impressions are important. « less

- I have visited Santa Fe many times in recent years, and the Inn of the Anasazi has proved to be my favorite place to stay. The service is really excellent (which I attribute to the high standards of the Rosewood Resorts). The rooms have all the upscale amenities -- really plush beds with nice linens, thick terry bathrobes, toiletries that smell delicious -- and they even provide humidifiers to help soften the desert air. The decor is Southwestern without being kitschy, which is refreshing for Santa Fe. I am a light sleeper, so it is very important to me to have a quiet room, and I've never been disturbed at the Anasazi. Room service breakfast is prompt and tasty. The restaurant and bar are outstanding.
Bottom line: you can spend $400 or so at a lot of hotels in Santa Fe, but at the Anasazi you will feel that you are really getting what you've paid for. In my recent experience, it is far nicer than Ten Thousand Waves (tattered furniture and surly service) and the Bishops Lodge (moldy bathroom, cavelike room, poor service). Plus you are in the middle of town, which cannot be beat! « less Read management response to this review.

- One of the best places I've stayed anywhere. The staff was wonderful--very friendly and helpful. It is located just off the plaza, so it could not be better placed. The room we had was large, very clean and tastefully done. The resturant was excellent--we had breakfast there every morning. The only thing missing is a fitness center, but the staff sent us to one less than a mile away. All in all a 5 star in my book and a place that I will return to without hesitation. « less

- Hotel is one of the nicest in the Santa Fe area - part of the Rosewood properties. Great location. Rooms just ok, on the small side. Service is ok - needs improvement. Housekeeper knocked, entered twice during our 3 day stay, even though 'do not disturb' sign was clearly on the door. Service/Food at restaurant is average. « less
