Overview
Location. The Adobe & Pines Inn Bed & Breakfast is located in a country setting with views of Taos Mountain in Taos, N.M. The inn is one-third mile south of the Ranchos de Taos Plaza and four miles south of shops, cafes, restaurants, galleries, live entertainment and festivals on historic Taos Plaza. The Taos Pueblo village, continuously inhabited for over 1,000 years, and the Taos Mountain Casino are less than four miles away. The Taos Ski Valley is approximately 18 miles from the inn.
Features. This inn is centered around a historic adobe hacienda preserved with its original architectural elements. The hacienda and separate guest cottages called casitas are set on just over three acres of country gardens and flowering trees. Sitting areas with lounge chairs and hammocks are located throughout the property. Complimentary full breakfasts are served each morning either in the sunroom, which offers a wood-burning fireplace overlooking the flagstone courtyard, or in the guestrooms. Complimentary wireless Internet is available throughout the property. The 80-foot long grand portal stretches across the hacienda, providing a place to sit and view the Taos Mountain. The lobby is an inviting place to relax, with a corner fireplace, softly contoured adobe walls and a log-beam ceiling. A stream that runs through the property is traversed by an old stone bridge. The inn offers outdoor fire circles stocked with firewood. Amenities include concierge services, spa services, a dry sauna and steam room. A collection of CDs, DVDs, video cassettes and games are available.
Guestrooms. Guestrooms and casitas at the Adobe & Pines Inn Bed & Breakfast feature private bathrooms and sitting rooms. All rooms offer kiva fireplaces, fine southwestern art, CD players and cable television with DVD players and VCRs. Select rooms feature full kitchens or kitchenettes. The Puerta Rosa room features two kiva fireplaces, a handcrafted wrought-iron bed, a two-person tiled custom soaking tub and a dry cedar sauna.
Expert Tip. In the late 1930s, Mrs. Paul Griffin, an art patron who owned and lived in the hacienda, financed the purchase of the Mystery Painting for the historic adobe St. Francis of Assisi Church in Ranchos de Taos Plaza, one-third mile south of the inn. Each evening, the shadow of a cross appears over Christ’s shoulder. Scientific studies of the canvas and the paint pigments cannot explain the phenomenon.
All guestrooms feature a private bath, sitting area, southwestern art, CD player, balcony/patio, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, and fireplace. Some rooms also offer a large private Jacuzzi tub and refrigerator. All suites feature kitchen facilities, and some offer a cable TV with VCR. As of November 30, 2004 all rooms will offer complimentary cable television, including the HBO channel, a DVD player and library of movies available for check-out.
**This property requires a two-night minimum stay for all Friday and Saturday arrivals.**
**Pets: $15 fee per pet per night, max occupancy per room is two pets**
