Overview

The Ashford Inn in Clinton, N.C., is situated in the Atlantic Coastal Plain one hour from Wilmington and Raleigh. Route 95 and Route 40 junction, just twenty minutes from the town of Clinton, makes this area convenient to many other North Carolina cities.
The Ashford Inn, featured in the National Register of Historic Places, is named after Colonel John Ashford, who fought in the infamous Civil War battles of Gettysburg and Fredericksburg. His family, who occupied the house during the Civil War period, is responsible for many of the renovations that still exist in the home today. A veranda and secluded backyard offer quiet privacy for outdoor relaxation, and there is a library and sitting room for socializing. A complimentary breakfast is served every morning, and an afternoon tea and evening reception are also offered (fees apply).

All guestrooms at The Ashford Inn are furnished with antiques or antique reproductions. Plush bathrobes are provided in each room. Cable television and high-speed Internet access is also included. All guestrooms have fireplaces and four-poster or sleigh beds.

Guests looking for a historical bed and breakfast offering privacy and ample opportunities for quiet relaxation will enjoy The Ashford Inn.
