The Harry Packer Mansion

The Harry Packer Mansion is perched on Packer Hill, overlooking the town of Jim Thorpe, Penn. The mansion is located six miles from Bear Mountain Butterflies, a butterfly sanctuary and community arts center. Mauch Chunk Lake Park, located 12 miles from the bed and breakfast, offers swimming, fishing and non-motorized boating.
Built in 1874, this Victorian-style mansion was used as the model for Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. Complimentary full breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room. Meeting rooms are available. The mansion features 15-foot ceilings, marble fireplaces and gilded mirrors. Murder Mystery Weekends centering around lives of the villagers of Jim Thorpe in the 1870s are held regularly. A television is located in the parlor. Tennis courts are available on site. Pets are not allowed at this property.

The Harry Packer Mansion offers six guestrooms in the main house and five in the carriage house. All rooms include private bathrooms, some with marble sinks and jetted tubs. Accommodations are furnished with period antiques and artwork, including Persian carpets atop hardwood floors. Select rooms feature separate sitting areas, 14-foot ceilings and mountain views.
